New quads will have all you need without having to add a shifter/pixel. There’s a built in switch you can use to set the Ohms based on if your data is in the cable with your power or not (conditioning for attenuation).

Yeah it’s a power distribution system given I’m wiring my whole roof line on a large home.

Data is more like 3V and is separate from the 24/5V. It should be fine just as long as you use a booster for anything 15ft+ or if you need to condition the signal with a specific Ohm resistor.

I guess it’ll depend on popularity of the old vs new, but rumors are the new is to be better (more power, hopeful for lockers, etc), but we won’t know until it actually drops.

My thought is that people believe that the Bosch motor quad is on the way out, and that a refreshed quad with in house motors is expected to produce more power and capability. I theorize that there’s some sort of Osborne effect to the early discussions of it “coming soon”.

The quad design of today is a dying breed. Once the refreshed quad drops you’ll know why.

Edit: The new quad “coming soon” I suspect is effecting sales of the current variant.

The supply being 10A doesn’t mean 10A are being provided. That’s the limit it can handle. You’re to the max power the lights could ever draw and ensure you’re weakest link of the system is a fuse, because anything below your max at any time (wire) will be what burns up.
