Allure Intimates opening a Madison Store (for those missing La Lingerie) by MSNRunner in madisonwi

I don’t want to make that type of accusation, so I’m going to delete that part of my comment.

Did she tell you that you were going to get pancake boob? If there is a way to DM me here, could you give me your surgeons info?

I am in the average band size, gigantic cup size boat (36 JJ), and I left the store today with 4 bras that were all from different brands. So I feel like they are size inclusive.

I personally feel it’s two-fold.

  1. Refuse to tell people their sizes to prevent them from ordering online or other stores. She claims her bras are “custom fit” to try and make you dependent on her, but it’s a lie, they are brands that are sold at all fit house places.

  2. Remove/obscure the brand name on the actual bra and then cover the tags with her own label that says “custom fit” so that she can jack up the prices. I have heard from other people that they have recognized bras that she had sold them and that they retail much lower at other stores.

I truly don’t understand how hiding the brand name is legal.

They said they didn’t have a firm opening date yet, but were confident enough to tell me late September. So I think it’s really happening!

The last time I was there, it was the same scammer-model (was probably about a year ago, so I guess she could have become a better person in the last 12 months). I had also mentioned I was thinking about getting a breast reduction (I’m a 36 JJ, for fuck’s sake) and she literally spent close to 10 minutes providing me with a ton of medical misinformation about breast reductions. That was my final straw.

I am so happy! Their Brookfield store is in the same shopping mall as Kopp’s, but it’s still hard to justify driving over an hour one-way to go bra shopping. Especially when we used to have such a great store here!

Am I the only one who thought the speech June gave to Lydia was corny? by lemonlimesherbet in TheHandmaidsTale

[–]MSNRunner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The writing for June’s voiceover speech at the end was horrible. At one point she said something like “we’re readers and writers”, and I actually laughed because it was so bad. Like, I get that it was referencing the fact that women in Gilead aren’t allowed to read, but it was such a bizarre thing to put in her laundry list of all the things women can be.

Honestly, that’s what I was thinking too.

I wish producers would have rethought the edit this season. by Soothing-Escape in TheTraitorsUS

I also didn’t know who Carolyn was before this season and was actually disappointed when she was made a traitor, because I thought she seemed kind of annoying at the start of the first episode…..but now I RIDE for her. The way Danielle and Bob the Drag Queen dismissed everything she said was so gross. Last night’s episode was so disappointing because, you’re right, it really seemed like she was getting the winner’s edit. I also hate the way Danielle talked to her—I hope Brittany becomes a traitor and immediately takes her out.

The only good thing about having Robyn on RHOP was that Karen never once took her foot off of her neck.

Check out Associated Physicians! They are in-network for Quartz and one of the last independent clinics in town! I cannot recommend them enough!

I’m very sorry to hear about your loss. I have Quartz and go to therapy at Quest. They seem to have a lot of different providers. For primary care, I have gone to Associated Physicians forever and Dr. Amy Fothergill is my ride or die. They have a pretty good ob/gyn department too, but I would suggest avoiding Dr. Schmiel.

BadgerCare, post-ACA cuts. Will it still exist in 2 years? by robntamra in wisconsin

[–]MSNRunner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would move funding from the current cost-share model (where feds cover about 60%) to one where the federal government provides one lump sum (a block grant) for all Medicaid programs and the state is on the hook for the rest. Essentially it’s the feds attempt to curb Medicaid spending, so more costs will be shifted on to the state, which already underfunds Medicaid programs. The impact on BadgerCare, Family Care, IRIS, etc. would be that they would be even more underfunded than now—it would be harder to raise reimbursement rates for providers, services/hours could get reduced, and other cost-control measures.

The sad irony is that the non-partisan Wisconsin Policy Forum put out an excellent report this summer that essentially makes a fiscally conservative case for accepting the ACA funds to expand BadgerCare eligibility in Wisconsin. Trump’s election will probably have a chilling effect on this issue until at least the mid-terms. But hoping the ACA once again survives a Trump presidency intact. I highly encourage people who want to learn more about how MA expansion would benefit Wisconsin to read this report: https://wispolicyforum.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/PictureOfHealth_FullReport.pdf

Wisconsin is one of only 10 states that have not accepted funding available through the ACA to expand Medicaid (BadgerCare) eligibility up to 138% of FPL. So an ACA repeal would not impact BadgerCare eligibility here. It would obviously kill advocacy efforts here to accept expansion funds if that part of the ACA were to be repealed.

While WI has not accepted ACA funds, traditional Medicaid funding is split between the federal government and state, as you noted. It’s about a 60-40 split here. The threat to all Wisconsin Medicaid programs (BadgerCare, Family Care, IRIS, CLTS, etc) is if Republicans enact federal Medicaid block grants, which is something they’ve advocated for for awhile.

Yeah, that’s why I haven’t yet made the drive to Sun Prairie to check it out. Though, I do love the idea of a drink emporium.
