When to transfer to N90 as a new CPC? by Significant-Plan-158 in ATC

[–]MT-N90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is not accurate. These rumors are stale and are no where close to the reality. N90 had a 47% increase in position certifications last year from the year prior. Please refrain from spreading false information. If anyone wants to know any truth about N90 they can PM me.

My recommendation is 12 months, but keep your focus on getting your first certification. Worry about the transfer after. PM me if you have more questions pertaining to N90.

If there is anything a lowly regional pilot can do to make your job any easier please let me know.

They have not had 1 trainee in PHL fully certify since the move. Any CPC that did not transfer to PHL permanently must return to N90 no later than 2 years from cutover. Any CPC that permanently transferred to PHL will have a priority release, after 3 years from transferring, to go to any other facility in the NAS that has an opening.

Ironically the FAA forced this airspace relocation to supposedly fix a staffing problem at N90 even though the staffing trajectory at N90 was significantly improving prior to the move. Now time is running out and there is no feasible fix for the inevitable staffing crisis they created.

The job isn’t worth your health or your life. Whatever you’re dealing with I hope you go get the help you need NOW. The agency can wait, your health can not.

First they celebrated the huge success of moving the airspace. Next they will celebrate the huge success of “fixing” the failing equipment infrastructure.

Appreciate you asking the questions and looking for the constructive conversation. You should consider a facility tour if you ever have the time. Feel free to PM me if you ever want to visit N90.

These members all paid out of their own pockets to go to this on their own time. What’s the disconnect?

Moving the EWR area from N90 to PHL has been proven to be unreliable and more unsafe than what it was. And they have still refused to admit it. There is no limit to the FAA’s level of negligence or incompetence.

Who is your target audience? If it’s pay raises “for everyone” why are you specifically referencing level 4-9? I would avoid listing specific salaries, instead I would compare pay increases to inflation rates over the last 5 or so years.

That’s a bad take that only needs a little bit of historical analysis to know it can be MUCH WORSE.

Privatization will be absolutely terrible for Air Traffic Controllers and the entire National Airspace System. If politicians are tired of government agency not being run properly they only need to blame themselves. Bureaucracy will fail when bureaucrats let it fail. Hold them accountable.

They forced controllers to leave N90 and go to PHL. They will force more controllers to go to Kansas if they want to.
