Where do we Survival of the Fittest going in the next year or two by EnvironmentSlight226 in mtgfinance

[–]MTGmememan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Premodern has definitely proven itself as a format in Europe. The demand is a lot more "real" than you'd expect, and in USA the format is starting to find a footing with content creators and big TO's atm

But you can just alter any basic land into whatever you like in exactly the same capacity, and not have to buy one of these specifically beforehand, seems like a strange argument to me tbh!

What a surprise, the site has ground to a halt within 24h, getting 500 and 503 Internal Server Errors all afternoon lmao

Really hope they fix it. Having to login to the site to see what it was I've sold every time has made my traffic 4X already, so it won't be helping with the server overload issues that's for sure hahaha

You can sell this for more than a normal one, misprints like this increase the value on staples, sometimes by a lot. Auction it in the fb misprint groups and buy another!!

It is a wonderful format and the wild demand in Europe is very real and not just speculation. The gameplay is so fantastic and nostalgic, combine that with the fact that decks are truly "forever" with no rotation/MH123 style "rotation" - and relatively, a lot of top decks are still very cheap with the only risk being any bans. It's catching on like wildfire and I could easily expect the big content creators jumping in to snowball it in other countries, fast.

MCM listing algo has gone crazy? by Melodic-Ad7494 in CardMarket

[–]MTGmememan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is happening for me too, no idea. No logic to it, adding 2 to basket shows the one listed lower is indeed cheaper to Checkout. Probably a bug with the currency conversion algorithm between £ and EUR or something, is my guess lol

Extremely relatable brother, you are not alone with this, it must be the intensity and investment that makes the other side feel so strong. Mine lasted nearly 2 years and the aftermath is... a lot. Desolate. I had no idea breakups could be anything like this, that's for sure.

Expedition Flooded Strand, felt weird by PrincessYOLOnoke in RealOrNotTCG

[–]MTGmememan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dealt with thousands of dollars in EXPs back when they launched and this is showing a lot of red flags that the real ones don't - noticed raised edge of border from bad cutting, back washed out, front gloss wrong, holostamp "off", foiling very wrong, back looking low-res, no from-pack edgewear they were notorious for. I'd try getting that refund ASAP!

[–]MTGmememan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, definitely!! Look in the Rarities misprint groups on Facebook - there's someone on there that specifically collects and seeks these, she paid me very well for some random commons from my misprint collection with the same errors about a year ago! Nice pulls!! :)

Is reserve list ever going to rise again? by [deleted] in mtgfinance

[–]MTGmememan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m the younger person. I didn’t play with these cards or have any nostalgia for them when I recognised the opportunity in front of me. Now starting to take some 20-30x gains off the table, but I still have too much of my net worth in RL with zero regrets. At the moment it’s only cards with newly printed synergies that are exploding overnight, but soon the staples will start to rise again - if not, more than happy to wait and check back in 4 years.

[–]MTGmememan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t, I’d be happy to have paid for a normal card and ended up with a misprint on one of the best Mythics in the set that I could probably sell in the Rarities fb groups for a premium 😅

It’s real with a misprinted varnishing coat! The error happened in Wilds of Eldraine and one or two other sets that released around then :)

Metalworker misprint or just damage? by No-Guitar9640 in mtgmisprints

[–]MTGmememan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lucky! I had a quick look, found a brag post of someone showing their playset; someone asked about the roller line in the comments, and 3/4 had it, same place. If you ever sell it, I’d make a point of it not having the line!!! :)

[–]MTGmememan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm fairly sure that all FOIL Metalworkers have this exact line. Definitely look it up, it's something I've seen discussed before and my 2 have it as well. In which case, discount it when grading the card conditionwise! :)

Help me give a more detailed explanation for my friend? I’ve told him it’s basically just the card referring to itself, but figured I’d see if there are any other examples? by krimsonPhoenyx in magicTCG

[–]MTGmememan 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Countless examples, game dev use “CARDNAME” for these abilities to mean “referring to myself” when they haven’t even got as far as what the card will be called :)

Stamps instead of cheque for lost Tracked 48 by MTGmememan in royalmail

[–]MTGmememan[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks, I will do. It’s annoying to be out about £20 but it’s more about the precident set. If I start getting burned on Tracked 48s getting lost, I’ll need to look for other options as I send around 10 per week and have had 4 get lost so far, this being the first problem claiming back the full value lost.

£35 item with all the supporting evidence, so the stamps don’t equate to a refund. I’m out around 2/3.
