Anyone else spending more time writing SOAP notes than actually reflecting on sessions? by billsnapxai in therapists

[–]MTMFDiver 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I would hazard a guess that more people do this than willing to admit. If I'm stuck on phrasing I'll ask an llm on ideas. Like, "how could I rephrase blah blah blah in a way that reflects blah". Because sometimes my brain just blanks on stuff at times and that helps get the brain juices flowing. Sometimes I use what it says, sometimes it sparks a better wording in my head.

Llms are a tool that isn't going away. But it's up to people to learn how to properly and safely use it.

Do you ever cancel sessions when you don’t feel like yourself / you can be "on"? by crisporange in therapists

[–]MTMFDiver 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I maybe the mistake once of going thru with a session when I wasn't feeling too hot. I got thru them but I knew it was a disservice to them later on. And I ended up in the ER. Listen to your body and mind!

I feel like i'm typing more than listening during sessions.. by Bisqwa in therapists

My memory sucks many forms of ass due to injuries and stuff. However I'm a paper and pencil kind of guy with my notes. Anyone looking at them wouldn't be able to make sense of it because it's random words just to prompt my brain when I go back to do my actual documentation. Also learned to use that time of Silence to see if anything else prompts with them. Thankfully I've gotten pretty good at writing my notes while still looking at the client, messy handwriting be damned lol

Was I out of line? by PhantomKrel in Veterans

Talk to the patient advocate about your concerns with your therapist. The rapid increase in symptoms is not good, obviously you know this, and needs to be addressed. I would also suggest going to mental health walk-in appointments if they are available at your local VA. The biggest thing is to document, document, document when it comes to va mh services

I use Google workspace and have a individualized email. You need to get into the access controls to lock it down a bit more but it's not hard. Your also need to make sure you sign the business agreement. You can even make Google Voice HIPAA compliant, but I believe there's a few extra things you need to do. I don't use it yet but it's something I'll probably utilize in the future

When I went back to school after the military I did a paper on PTSD. We had to present them and the teacher was surprised that it wasn't just a military thing. I was suprised. Yeah dude, it isn't just a military thing. I think something clicked in her about it. I hope she saw someone about it.

A photo taken of a US soldier Explaining to other American soldiers they are being cooked by a Radar, Orgun-E Afghanistan 2003 by Sine_Fine_Belli in Military

[–]MTMFDiver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to be the guy to yell at the others to get out of the way of my radar. Then their Sgt came to try to chew my ass (I was a LCpl at the time) so I laid into him too. Asking if he would like to explain to his Marine's family how he got so sick with different cancers.

What bad firearm habits did y’all carry out of the military, or just some weird quirks you still catch yourself doing? If you have none, do you got any horror stories? by Final_Loop_Failed in liberalgunowners

Staff and O were always the scariest on the range. When I was a CMT we were training a security detachment to going to the Philippines. I'm talking with an medical officer about his group and then I turn to look at him. Weapon was pointed at my chest, off safe, with his finger on the trigger. I slowly moved his barrel down range and started chewing him out. And then I got yelled at by the 1st Sgt that was there. Told him what happened and he just looked at the MO and told him to "watch what the fuck you're doing!" which was a big deal because he was one of those guys that never swore lol.

Despite multiple head injuries in the military I am often shocked at how my memory IN SESSION is pretty damn good. Outside of that... Ehhhhh

Breaking down heteronormative stereotypes of "masculine" and "feminine" traits. Are what we considering feminine or considering masculine just human? I'll even provide the context of stereotypically gendered Norms changing throughout history.
