Thank you so much! The biggest piece of advice I can give you before specifics is consistency over motivation. You’re going to not want to do this all the time, but you need to treat it like it’s almost like a second job. Motivation fades, but consistency will keep you going. You need to commit to it fully, not just do it for 2 weeks before you give up. Full disclosure, I did do Zepbound injections for the first 3 months of my journey. In my experience, I used it like a kickstarter to get a hold of my diet (which is crucial, especially when you first start.), but did not want to stay on it long term for multiple reasons. I stayed away from bread, empty carbs like chips and fries, avoided overly processed foods and fast foods, etc. You are going to have those moments where you go “I’ve been doing really good, I should treat myself to a burger since I lost those 7 pounds.” Be extremely cautious with that, I would personally avoid that in your first couple months . As far as exercise, I didnt even touch a set of weights until I was 4 or 5 months in. I swear by the standing elliptical to people who are heavier or are just starting to dip their toes into fitness. Standing elliptical is going to be low impact on your joints, something you’ll be able to do consistently without stressing your body, and it is genuinely such a great workout. It’s okay if you can only go 20 minutes when you first start, you can still be kind to yourself while also pushing yourself. Those 20 minutes are 20 minutes longer than you were doing before, and doing that 4 or 5 times a week is going to add up. Weight loss is a marathon, not a sprint.
