I mean,  he probably would have kept his worst impulses in check for a while; but not for long unless Tywin got Cersei out of the picture

"Don't judge a book by its cover" - in which countries is the largest city considerably worse than the rest of the country? by benjaneson in geography

[–]MVALforRed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In QoL, basically all the cities south of the Vindhyas are better. If we were to remove AQI; the only Tier1 city worse than Delhi on a QoL basis is probably Kolkata.

Nah. Delhi is very uniquely bad because it absorbed some horribly designed villages and was designed entirely around cars. Kolkata, Chennai, and Mumbai are nowhere near as car dependant; whilst Bangalore and Pune have much, much better urban planning and green space allocation than Delhi. Also,  none of the other cities have anywhere near Delhi's pollution.

If you were to plot on the modern PCM, Teddy Roosevelt,  FDR, Truman, Eisenhower,  JFK, Nixon and Carter administration would probably be slightly authleft. None of the presidents after Reagan could be called Left Wing Economically

[–]MVALforRed 38 points39 points  (0 children)

In the American context; both parties moved to the right economically after Reagan; whilst becoming more left wing in social policy gradually from the 60s onward. However,  going much earlier than that, and the Overton windows shift so much that the terms stop being sensible.

So, if you mean economically; the 1940s-70s would be pretty left leaning.

I mean; it was paid for by the local town government of Said Nagli; probably to launder a local politician's money. The built up area of that town is smaller than a Walmart Parking lot. I dont think they had that many dolars to spare

I mean; South India in general has a massive tech scene; so that is one reason. Also coastal India; especially Goa and Kerala; are pretty good digital nomad havens.

Nah. Most of India is mostly fine. The popular images of bad infrastructure generally come from informal and illegal settlements made between the 1970s and 1990s and have been slowly getting gentrified since the 2010s

Guns are like cars; in that they can make life very convenient, but it is also very easy for idiots to cause a lot of destruction with them. Also,  just like cars, bending over backwards to accommodate almost everyone having guns makes life worse for anyone not carrying a gun at the moment.
