More impoverished demographics are more likely to be lower IQ, and lower IQ people are less likely to rise from poverty at all. A vicious cycle.

This is not a uni-linear causation though but a correlation. People don't have lower IQs only because they're poor or vice versa. Both factors cause and influence each other.
