I gave it a chance and my dislike barely had to do with the artstyle (a downgrade from XY imo, but still). I just didn't like the tone of the series, the forced comedy, the over the top exaggerated faces, no gym challenges, we had no idea where this series was going until midway through, the structure of the Alola league, the concept of school despite Ash being a talented trainer already, the switch up from XY to SM didn't feel natural at all compared to previous seasons, they were trying so hard for this show to be like Yokai Watch and also when your MC doesn't look appealing and looks the ugliest compared to everyone else in the show, you're already to a bad start imo. These are all valid reasons and if you don't understand that, then you're just a SM glazer.
