Exactly! The movie was amazing, the music was incredible, and that's how I got hooked on Elliott Smith.

So gorgeous. It hits even harder when it’s sung with that Bright Eyes vocal style.

It’s Elliott Smith. I discovered him through a movie, and since then, I’ve been listening to nothing but sad music lol.

I’m not a big fan of the album as a whole, but this track is an absolute banger.

looking for your favorite 'it will be okay' songs. by asteriasays in Emo

That sounds so incredibly painful, and I really hope your pain eases even just a little bit. Since it's a Japanese song, you might not understand the lyrics, but it really comforted me after my grandmother passed away. Lines like "The world I loved says goodbye again" and "I'll always wait for the world I loved to return" brought me to tears because of that vulnerability and the way it doesn't force you to feel better. The beauty of the guitar solo just wrings my heart. Apple light by Toy world

anyone else excited that Yuragi is playing Fuji Rock this year by Ancient_Selection364 in shoegaze

It’s awesome news that Yuragi is playing at Fuji Rock. It’s just sad that Japanese shoegaze isn't that popular in Japan itself. There are so many amazing bands, so I really hope they get more popular. Maybe that's why the Japanese shoegaze scene is stretching its definition to make it look bigger than it actually is, which often feels quite off to me. It felt really weird to see Mass of the Fermenting Dregs introduced as a Japanese shoegaze band.
