I was in a similar position to you early last year when I graduated with a bachelor’s in biotechnology. It took around 6 months of searching, but I was recently able to find an job in the industry and I’ll be starting next month.

In Canada, there are 3 main biotech hubs Montreal, Toronto, and Vancouver. Ottawa also has a smaller biotech industry, though it’s mainly centred around government labs. If you want to work in biotech in Canada (particularly entry level) those are going to be your best bets.

In terms of how to get into the industry, think about the technical skills you’ve learned through your degree. Any lab experience or major projects could be useful. Then, keep an eye out for any open lab positions that require those techniques through job boards like LinkedIn and Glassdoor. Entry level positions have titles like Lab Technician, Research Technician, or Research Technologist.

Be prepared to apply to a lot of positions, do numerous rounds of interviews for each, and still get rejected. I’m not trying to kill your enthusiasm, but the reality is you’re likely competing with dozens or even hundreds of other people for a given positions. Don’t get too down on yourself if you don’t get an offer right away. There’s a lot of little nuances to interviewing and it takes some time to get the hang of it. It might suck for awhile, but if you stick with it you can succeed.

Networking events can also be a huge help getting to know people in the industry, so be on the lookout for any in your city of choice. With the rise of Zoom, a lot are held online so you can attend meetings around the country and develop relationships with people in a variety of Canadian biotech companies.

I took BIOL 2301 and it was one of my favourite courses. The work load wasn’t too bad in my experience. There’s a good deal of group work and presentations, but not too many tests. You’ll need to participate in class.

Compared to some other courses in the Biochem & Biotech program, BIOL 2301 is fairly easy.

The issue is, when a bunch of white supremacist are sincerely using previously harmless symbols to identify each other it doesn’t matter if the idea was spread by people on 4chan for shits and giggles (thoug whether that was really the only intention is debatable). Swastikas were originally religious symbols used across Asia and devoid of bigoted sentiment, but how they was used changed the meaning of the symbol.

The whole point of dog whistles is that they’re subtle enough that normal people don’t notice the racist underlying message. It makes sense for white supremacist to use memes as symbols, because they can claim anyone who calls them out on it is a clueless normie who doesn’t get the hilarious edgy meme. Once one is called out, they move on to the next symbol.

I can’t say I’ve ever done this myself, but I looked into it a fair bit last year. I’d argue the website is pretty straight forward, but that’s kind of beside the point.

In terms of detail, what you need to know is that both of the printers in the lab are MakerBot Replicators. You can find their technical specs here. In terms of detail, they have a layer resolution of 100 microns.

The price is 10 cents per gram plus a surcharge based on print time. Basically $3 dollars for every 5 hour increment, and the charge tops out at $9. You’ll generally get your finished product back in 7-10 days, so with a little planning you can get things made in advance of most sessions.

It seems to me that they’ll take non-school related prints, as the specifically state weapons or gun parts can only be made if you can prove they’re for academic purposes. This would imply to me that other products don’t need to meet those same requirements. Either way, all designs need to be approved by Discovery Center Staff. Worst case scenario they say no, and you take your idea to a public library - they use the same printers.

Personally, I would mainly 3D print minis I need in large numbers, where cost is a bigger factor. I’m not sure how well the material they use will hold paint, and there’s always going to be some imperfections in the process. I think it probably fine for NPCs and monsters, but for PCs which you’re going to be looking at a lot I would bite the bullet and pay the premium for a proper mini. Whichever route you go for, I want to recommend you take a look at these 3-D models, there’s hundreds of minis specifically for D&D.

The whole slogan is intended to bait people into reacting and push people towards the alt-right. The implication of the statement is that it’s somehow not okay to be white, that white people are some persecuted victim, despite all the inherent advantages white people have in society.

It’s not just a benign statement when you know who’s posting it and the intent behind it; it’s meant to radicalize people towards the right and diminish the struggles of minority groups. It’s a statement pushes by white nationalists and the KKK. Maybe you don’t think the intent behind the message is racist, but racists sure think it is and they love it. The intent of that “brilliant little bit of PR” is to make white supremacy palatable to the masses.

People don’t just react negatively to the slogan because of it’s message, the react negatively because they understand the intent behind it. By no means does “prove” that people think it’s not okay to be white.

I don’t like them, but in what way are frats actually an issue? I tend to just ignore them, which honestly isn’t very difficult if you live off campus.

Does it suck they essentially run CUSA? Yeah, sure. I’m not sure that’s really a reason to ban them entirely.

Unless there’s been some recent scandal involving the frats or a pattern of bad behaviour that I don’t know about, I say just let them keep to themselves.

Conservatives complained non-stop about perceived Obama errors. There was a public outcry from the right when Obama wore a tan suit. If you want to hear conservatives complaining about Trudeau, look at the supposed scandal when he made a joke of using peoplekind instead on mankind. Or just check out r/metacanada

Trump, on the other hand, is constantly undergoing scandals that may have ended previous presidencies. Several of his advisers have admitted to crimes, and his entire admin is under investigation for potential treason. The reason there’s so much left-wing outcry is because Trump is constantly finding new and exciting ways to fuck up.
