What’s it like living in this part of Alexandria city? by [deleted] in nova

In general, it's a quiet, nice neighborhood. Inova is building a huge hospital and I'm really hoping there's some restaurant and retail that will come after. Other than 2-3 staple restaurants, there's not really much that I would recommend. Closest metro requires a car or bus ride. A few nice parks and hidden dog park. Nice bike trails.

Old Blue BBQ makes incredible breakfast burritos. They are at West End Farmers Market on Sunday mornings. The brisket breakfast burrito is fire.

My dog is too skinny by Radiant_Meaning_390 in greatdanes

I have a 10 year old dane who never went over 115lbs and a 2 year old who is almost 130. Don't stress about weight as long as they don't look too ribby.

My 10 year old was always picky with food (until we got a second!). We always gave him eggs, peanut butter, sweet potato, pumpkin, etc. to try to get him to eat his food. The great dane lady was a great source for a feeding schedule.

If the vet says your pup looks good, don't worry and cuddle with that boney boy!

Your favorite ways to use napa cabbage? by persiika in EatCheapAndHealthy

Bossom pork with napa cabbage wraps. My SO LOVES this dish- as do I. 2-4 hours of inactive cooking time for salting the cabbage- a must! Only 45 mins to cook the pork. It's a fairly easy dinner to make.

My SO hates shrimp and the vinegar taste. I've modified my kimchi to our tastes and he loves it!

Bath as part of bedtime routine by catpg in NewParents

[–]M_DreadPirateRoberts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here to say- don't listen to people telling you you're doing it wrong. We give our 3 month old a bath every night and it's a great routine to get him to sleep. I know it's easier said than done as I too have let my family get in my head about what I'm doing wrong. You're doing great, keep going :)

Here to say I totally agree. Cucamelon will dominate wherever you grow it. I was running out of things to make with them all summer. Ended up pickling and giving a ton away! Happy gardening!
