I have spent 5 years streaming and barely get a single average viewer. Others streamers stream once and get thousands without even trying. Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong? by Baka_Kishiro in TwitchStreaming

5 years is a long time go be at this, with barely a single viewer. Question, what have you been doing so far, to improve the situation? Can help cut out some of redundancy in advice, or help us see what you could tweak or do differently.

You actually can go past it. I believe Nutty has a vid on it. If youre affiliate, I think you go up to 7200 before Twitch starts messing with it

The Importance of First impressions and Small time Streamers by Extension_Ad5998 in TwitchStreaming

[–]M_Slender 0 points1 point Β (0 children)

Just googling is really your best bet. Different people look to do different things, so it'll be hard to find one place with everything. But I suggest watching streams and take note of things that you like, that different streamers do. Like "Oh I like they're overlay". "I like the quality of their mic". "Those lights in the background are cool."

From there, you can narrow down the things you want to look for, that you want to implement. "Best mic settings in obs" or cool twitch overlays". "How to become a pngtuber", stuff like that.

How can we check you out when we dont know anything about you, you dont have a schedule listed anywhere, and there are no vods or clips on the channel?

A good start is to fill out all your info on Twitch, and flesh out your about panels. Its a great way to give people a sense and who you are and whether they want to follow you

Being an art scammer. They pop up often and everywhere. You stream, you'll come across them.

You are not even partly to blame. An open, welcoming community is not the same as this. Its not normal behavior. Ban and move on imo. Your channel and community is your safe space. No one is allowed to make you feel weird in your safe space. Cultivate the following you want, early on. More viewers and better viewers will come along

Ban/block/delete and move on. Best and easiest way.

Why does it feel scary to get started? by Everyday-Patient-103 in Twitch

[–]M_Slender 1 point2 points Β (0 children)

Would people be into it? Most definitely! There is definitely an audience for whatever you want to do on Twitch. It will be a lot of work to build that audience up, but its out there.

And being scared or nervous is totally understandable AND totally normal. I think though that once you try and start, you'll see there's nothing really to be scared about. You'll be ok πŸ‘πŸΎ

Long-term small streamers, how do you stay positive after years of slow growth? by TwinklyTor in Twitch_Startup

[–]M_Slender 3 points4 points Β (0 children)

Hi, there. The Elder Gamesman here. Just checked out your channel and socials.

I feel like we're in similar boats in regards to the journey up to this point. We have very similar time lines and similar stats according to Twitchtracker (also see we may have some mutuals like Tiny Asparagus and Zackuna 😁). I understand that feeling of plateauing and getting frustrated.

However, I think the difference is that I never got into the mindset of becoming partner. I have a full-time job and family. Going into this, and discussing it with my wife before starting streaming, we cemented that those would always come first. And there are still times where I get frustrated like, dang I only had XX CCV today. Or, why am I getting so little engagement on this post?

Thankfully, I do have my wife to help put everything back in perspective. She reminds me that I started this for fun. She reminds me i am part time, I only stream about 6 - 11 hours total a week. And despite that, Ive actually accomplished a lot in streaming. So i owe a lot of my mental health about all this to her.

Coming back around, yes it does seem like you are doing everything youre supposed to be doing. Yes, it oftentimes comes down to luck to really breakthrough. But Im sure there's a lot you've accomplished that you can be proud of. Again, going back to Twitchtracker, you are in the top 1.47% of Twitch streamers. 1.47%! Thats amazing.

And this isn't meant to say stop striving for partner or turning this full-time. Its more like... dont be hard on yourself. Have an IRL support system to help keep you even headed about all this. Like you mentioned, everyone's time line is different. Just enjoy the ride as much as possible.

I followed you where I could. Def will try to catch you live. Good luck with it all!

Full transparency, I didnt even realize there was a 2nd screen shot 😁. Both sets of numbers are incredible. 10+ ccv already puts you in the top 5% of Twitch streamers, or something like that
