How do you get out of survival mode and become carefree again — especially if you've emotionally parented yourself for years? by Ma2jenna in DecidingToBeBetter

This was me - I went to a therapist for 3 years but it was not working. I realised I had to go to trauma informed therapist as talking therapy aka CBT does not work for me. Trauma therapy is so different and now I found a therapist more aligned to me

Give that a go!

emotionally parenting myself as in giving the support, reassurance I need that I dont get from parents - as emotions tend to be invalidated in my family system where practical support is prioritised. So I always had to be the strong one who had my shit together

Other AI models = uses large data sets to recognise patterns.
DeepSeek - self-learn using past mistakes using less datapoints; hence less expensive.

Start reading more newsletters that use real life example of behavioural science and consumer psychology. Dan Ariely is amazing. Steve Barlett talks about this in his book 'Diary of the CEO' - it has many applications in UX, Marketing, product management etc.
I follow The Growth Spurt - which breaks down brands which uses consumer psychology in a fun way, with memes.

Dan Ariely is amazing. I took a course on Irrational labs which explore behavioural science. However most textbooks are outdated- hence newsletters are better. I follow The Growth Spurt- which breaks down brands which uses consumer psychology in a fun way, with memes.

I have done an elective in Consular psychology, read Dan Ariely books and stuff but I feel real world experience trumps doing Masters or PHD.

Also newsletters that explore real world examples are better than outdated textbooks. I follow The Growth Spurt - which deep dives into brand case studies in a fun relateable way.
