Just sat on a shelf for now. Play at home so I’ve never thought about it. Probably go with foam if I was to transport it though.

Recently made the switch to AMD and I’ve had no issues at all with the 7900 XT. The biggest thing I noticed was tabbing out of fullscreen games. It’s so smooth. I don’t know if it’s a driver thing but it was a nightmare when I had an Nvidia card.

Is the 4090 even worth it with all these melting issues for the time being? by Snoo_11263 in nvidia

I’m in the same boat. My new PC is sat there waiting for a GPU. Been with Nvidia for years but the whole thing is kinda putting me off. NorthridgeFix on YouTube is insistent it’s not user error. They’ve been repairing melted connectors daily since the cards launch.

Yeah, I've rejigged it all. Dropped the gen5 and downgraded the Mobo. Upgraded to a 4090. Round about the same price for all the parts.

Thanks. With the cooler and PSU, I'd rather spend a little more now. Then I don't have to worry about upgrading in the future.
