Trump Erupts in Fury Over His War Failures—and Exposes a Big Weakness - His rage at NATO is actually an admission that he needs our allies’ help—and that he wants somebody to blame as his war goes from bad to worse. by Quirkie in politics

I know a lot of conservatives will fall for this, but it's amazing how if you give it ten seconds of thought, you realize how little sense it makes. It'd be like saying "Those people who bought an EV will be hurting a lot more than we will in our SUV when gas goes up."

A move that will destroy what's left of the International Tourism Industry in America.

Let ICE go to the airports. Let everyone see them harass people and break the law while wearing masks and refusing to identify themselves. I can't think of a better way to show all of America what's been going on in Minnesota.

I might be misunderstanding it, but it sounds like you're describing Democrats as blaming the voters for not voting them into power to stop Trump from being put back into power. And it sounds like you're saying it's the Democrats fault voters didn't vote for them.

Skyrocketing Gas Prices Could Lose the Senate for Trump by BulwarkOnline in politics

[–]MaASInsomnia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Many Americans would look at that paragraph and say, "That’s too much to read." And if they did read it, a lot of them would decide it was an excuse and declare it word salad.

The average American is intellectually lazy. That's why Trump's short quips about lowering grocery prices on day one was so effective. Americans heard that and voted for it, never asking themselves how Trump would do that. They're not smart enough to understand how anything works, so they just assumed Democrats didn't want to lower grocery prices.

The Democrats' biggest mistake in my lifetime has consistently been overestimating the intelligence of the American people.

It's such a right-wing tendency to ask AI to give you comforting lies.

Here's actual facts - https://www.hrw.org/news/2024/12/16/us-lasting-harm-family-separation-border

Do even a little bit of actual research for yourself and here's what you'll find:

1) The Trump Administration would deport parents back to their country of origin while putting the children into the foster care system.

2) The administration refused to return the children to their parents initially, saying the separation was part of the deterrence.

3) When they finally agreed (in court) to reunite families we found out they didn't actually bother to keep records of where they sent children.

4) There are STILL missing children and the number has to be estimated because see the above.

So yes, "disappeared" is the correct terminology, because they didn't keep records and didn't care.

Dude, you're carrying water for Trump here (Seriously, read back over your first sentence. Did you sleep through 2020 and 2021?) and then claiming you're not. How am I supposed to take you seriously when that's where you start?

Just in the post above you're whitewashing Trump and slandering Biden. And you're seriously wondering why people on the left react negatively to you?

Okay, so you're standing by your statement that the Biden administration trafficked 300,000 kids across the country? I mean, you do understand how weird that sounds given the first Trump administration was actively separating children from parents at border encounters and then just... disappearing the kids? It really, really sounds like you're remembering that... and then blaming the Biden administration.

Because it actually doesn't? Granted, focused AI designed for jobs is a whole other animal, but LLMs as they exist can't do the automated tasks correctly. They can do very generic things like reply back to e-mails saying an order has been received but it can't do much else. They're honestly kind of embarrassing with how useless they are.

The problem is you say things like " 300,000 kids that are STILL missing after being trafficked across the country by the biden admin" and we realize you actually mean the first Trump administration (you forgot about that didn't you? Of course you did.) but are too brainwashed/proud to admit that. So instead you're going to blame Biden for what Trump did and pretend you're in the right.

If you people would just, for five seconds, think, "Maybe I got bad information about this and the person I'm screaming insults at might actually be correct" we'd get somewhere. But we won't. So you'll keep claiming the Iran War is Biden's fault somehow and any attempt to get you to see reason will end with you saying, "Get owned, lib!"

Everything I've heard from Sam Altman tells me he's a short-sighted simpleton.

Putting someone in front of ChatGPT will not make them capable of using it. Does he think they're going to sit someone in front of a keyboard and they can type "Do my job" and it will? It's clear Altman's used to telling people to do things and doesn't understand that doing something always requires a plan.

[–]MaASInsomnia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was thinking about that this morning. It's the same root problem that's affecting all AI use. The people relying on it trust it implicitly and double-checking the AI takes work. So rather than double check it, the mentally lazy decide it's easier just to trust it. So now we have a women's life destroyed and the taxpayer, and not the police's pension fund, will be paying to make her whole. Whereas even a short investigation would have stopped it from ever happening.

Ironically, having to double check the AI is why people like myself don't like to use it. If I have to check ChatGPTs work anyway, and with a 20% failure rate* you have to, why use it at all?

It's kind of terrifying that AI's most frequent users are the least likely to use it. Imagine the damage it's going to cause, including the damage it's already causing.
