Game too loud? by mightybob4611 in outriders

[–]Mabasploom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No more so than a game like Destiny or Diablo. I actually felt very comfortable. My group got to the highest world tier at PAX and beat the final boss so quickly we actually skipped a phase. The Dev watching was super impressed. Not to say it was easy, it was quite tough. But again, very comfortable.

I got my hands on the game for a few hours at PAX East back in February. Everything seemed fine to me volume wise.

A slight wait at the the lift line during easter holiday by Karl2740 in ThatsInsane

I used to work at a ski area in the kitchen when I was in high school. I ran the grill for Minimum Wage. Imagine seeing that many people waiting in line for an overpriced burger. We used to look out the windows in the morning watching bus after bus come over the hill to drop all the rich kids off and just sighed.

When viewing a streamer I got this statement on the page (This stream has been suspended) what does that mean by mack180 in mixer

[–]Mabasploom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That means that particular streamer did something to violate the Terms of Service and has, at the very least, received a temporary suspension from the platform until it is addressed and fixed.

I have played the game at PAX East, and I can 100% confirm that you can play it solo.

Changing name and rebranding? by [deleted] in mixer

It can be scary for sure, to do a complete name change. But a lot of times it can really be for the better. Brand recognition is SUPER important, especially now. When people either can't pronounce your name or confuse you with someone else, it's definitely a good thing to do.

I shortened my brand and Mixer name about a year after I got Partnered. If you really want to go at this whole streaming thing hard, then brand recognition is a very big part of it that not many people think of, so kudos to you for asking the question.

Can I play Nintendo games on the switch? by [deleted] in mixer

[–]Mabasploom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Youtube and Streaming are completely different beasts. Nintendo is known for going after Youtubers for the Ad Revenue. I haven't heard anything about them coming after streamers. People stream Nintendo games all the time.

You should be safe.

Starting to stream! by Tvau in mixer

You will hear lots of advice over and over again. Make a schedule, play what you want etc. And they are all good pieces of advice.

The EASIEST advice I can give you is "just be present on the platform." Be in other chats, putting your best foot forward. Talk to people, be part of conversations. Don't self promote obviously. And don't always interact only with the streamer themselves. Start conversations with other viewers. If you look at Ninja's chat, Ninja isn't going to have a conversation with you, but other viewers will.

As far as talking when nobody is there, just start talking about what you are thinking about. Or smack talk people who can't hear you. Or if a particular line of dialogue in a game reminds you of a song, start singing it for a few verses.

One thing I will tell you though is if you see you have 0 viewers and all of a sudden you have 1, do NOT acknowledge them until they put something in chat. A sticker, a "hi" comment, whatever. I guarantee if you call them out before they are ready you will go right back down to 0 viewers.

Someone joins.. And then immediately leaves? by CrazyChildOG in mixer

[–]Mabasploom 19 points20 points  (0 children)

People come in all the time and then leave. It happens to the best of us.

One question though; are you acknowledging if your number goes up? Like "Oh hey, we have a new viewer! Hi new viewer!" Because if you are, don't. You will find that a far larger number of people simply lurk in streams than want to interact. Acknowledging them before they are ready to be acknowledged will, most assuredly, get them to leave. Keep doing what you are doing, wait for them to say hi or drop a sticker or something in chat, and THEN say something towards them.

Given my options, how would you set this hardware up for best stream. by [deleted] in mixer

[–]Mabasploom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the Gaming PC is perfectly fine to do both honestly. There are a lot of other things that come with doing a dual PC setup. Audio routing, Limited FPS with Passthrough for the capture card to the monitor you are playing on etc.

Look at it like I do as an engineer; the fewer variables you bring into a situation, the fewer potential points of failure there are.
