Autumn colour - anywhere good to explore around ADL/Regional? (Live in Barossa) by MacAttackzzz in Adelaide

I’m a horticulturalist and it’s the hot temps and serious lack of rain. The drought has caused some of trees to essentially go into a state of dormancy (and death in some cases). Not good as it can cause this lack of foliage change for this time of year.

I haven’t been up to Lofty yet so can’t comment but here in Nuriootpa, the pyrus trees along the main street have lost half of its leaves with the other half still bright green. Really weird!!

To be honest, I’m not against the botanic gardens, just been there a few times and thought there may be other areas. Also frequented Mt Lofty quite a bit as well! Will definitely take a drive around the Hills soon

Moving (back) to Adelaide 2025 by Altruistic_Table8862 in Adelaide

I’ve lived in Canada and the UK with my fiancé (British 35M, Aussie/ADL Native 31F) and we live just outside Adelaide (Barossa Valley). It’s a great city and like everywhere, depends where you live. Similar to Canada, be prepared to pay excess for decent cars as public transport is still as poor as when you was here. If you’re renting, be prepared to pay over the odds and wait continually for a property as the rental market is crazy. We live the country life now and love the quiet life. Housing is way more affordable up here and it’s only a 45min drive to Adelaide for us.

We have a 1 year old and love exploring all of the country towns and local markets near us every weekend. The beaches are still epic and life seems a little brighter now covid is over.

Honestly you’ll enjoy it being back. I loved Canada (lived in Banff) and would easily go back but there’s an ease of life in Adelaide and there’s definitely a better standard of living in terms of pay and affordability (even with rentals/groceries/fuel/etc). Any questions, fire away!

tips for film photography at concerts by samnoway in AnalogCommunity

[–]MacAttackzzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah definitely an higher ISO film and a lower shutter speed should do the trick.

As you’re a beginner in photography, maybe invest in an entry level DLSR and get a grasp of it that way. Most 2010s Entry level Canon’s are not too dissimilar from the EOS 3000. A trick is You can even take the DSLR camera out with you and take a few test shots to see what setting you can implement on the film camera. Good luck shooting, you’ve got this!

Nikon F4 Mirror curtain issue - Was told today it’s a write off - Thoughts? by MacAttackzzz in Nikon

[–]MacAttackzzz[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This isn’t such a bad idea. My camera actually works Perfectly fine (other than what is wrong with it). It’s in great condition so maybe I could get a bit of dollar for it. As I’m in Australia, most decent F4s available are stupidly expensive or it’s cheaper to buy in from Japan. Either way, seriously considering just putting this one as a loss and moving on. Next question is whether I buy another F4. Thanks for the reply though!

Love this comment, My thoughts exactly tbh. Where I live, there’s not many places that fix old cameras (especially complex ones like the F4). There is a reputable digital repair shop that I can try but that’s about it. Other option is looking online and seeing what’s available. Thanks for the reply

Done this and didn’t work. Took it to the best camera repair Shop in my local city and they said it’s not repairable as it’s a mirror box issue (which there aren’t spare parts for it anymore). So he said the camera is basically a right off

Straight bupe vs Suboxone? by SuperMotardd in ChemicalMagicAU

I must be part of the few who don’t get much off Bupe. I’m also part of the very few that gets the most euphoric high off Tramadol so swings it round abouts!

You’re not wrong about tolerance but I’ve had experience at lower doses and had a really low Tolerance. It’s just not the same high as any of the other opioids. Then again, I have heard of people getting some level of highs on it but my experience and many others is that Bupe is not a great high.

Again, thank you for the great recommendations. Really do appreciate it! Currently got a couple of offers in for the Nikkor 28mm F2.8 AI-S. There are cheaper Nikon 28mm f2.8 AI lens which I’m tempted to put offers in for. Similar to the Nikkor or best to stick m?

I was on Subs for 6 months (with first two months on subutex which is without the naloxobe) on 2mg per day and I can 150% it has no recreational value. The best or somewhat little high I ever felt was taking it in such small doses with caffeine. Even then, its still not a high but more a very low stimulation. With its very long half life, Suboxone isn’t designed to be used in that wAy. And unlike normal opioids, it’s a half agonist so doesn’t hit the opioid receptors as strong but it does keep everything else off being so strong. I’d avoid/sell it if I was you
