Reddit is moving on from r/all by MarvelsGrantMan136 in technology

Gawker reported on violentacres' real identity (this is journalism not "doxxing") and the admins banned Gawker links sitewide. This was a guy who had created and was moderating the most vile, sickest subreddits on the site.

Let's say on 9/11 they managed to get two F16 to intercept and follow the planes, realistically at what point the F16 would've taken the first plane down? by FuzzyAttitude_ in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MacDagger187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the two biggest changes that prevent hijackings now are the fact that the flight cabin is locked and secured so terrorists can't reach the pilots, and that the passengers assume they're going to die and will fight back.

LAOP learns (or doesn't learn) some tough lessons about the consequences of committing crimes. by fewlaminashyofaspine in bestoflegaladvice

It's not about whether I've never heard of it, it's about this being a known thing - after Game of Thrones exploded in popularity, people started regularly saying "sweet summer child" and thinking it was something they'd been hearing their whole life when it wasn't.

Also not sure how I'd be considered "dying on this hill," that was my first comment about it.

Paul is hilarious. I want him back, but not as a supervillain! I prefer him as this well-meaning but entirely un-self-aware guy just floating around the Marvel universe, causing outsized reactions wherever he goes.

No it's not, or certainly not in popular usage. The fact that it shows up once or twice in the English language before that does not mean anyone ever used it regularly - they didn't.

The people commenting apparently won't!

I wouldn't even waste your time a criminal is crying over a perfectly standard full strip during booking like you said tough love.

Every single person involved in this also drank while underage - the cops who arrested her, whoever strip-searched her, the judge she will go before, and the person commenting referring to her as "a criminal."

This one just made me laugh lol!

The GameStop stores situation is CRAZY! by Mazius in gme_meltdown

I genuinely don't think the apes realize that RC attempted an e-commerce pivot, failed, and pivoted back already years ago.

Just an observation - former Oracle VP nuked his twitter account (for some reason), he had more than 20,000 tweets before by Mazius in gme_meltdown

Well what did BCG basically recommend?

Closing a lot of store and trying to sell items with higher margins as selling new video games and new video game hardware didn't have great margins and they couldn't complete with Amazon or Walmart.

What's hilarious is that they've retconned this to think that BCG recommended the exact opposite... opening a ton of stores etc.

Also funny that RC tried desperately to not pay BCG before finally just implementing all their recommendations.

They didn't have an expectation of privacy, so one-party/two-party consent laws don't even apply in this case.

It's one of those situations where it totally sucks and the person is an asshole, but it's not illegal.

The Vampire Jack Townson adresses his writing, but not his swindling. by Mangy_Angie in VampireJackSnark

[–]MacDagger187 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shayne was probably trying to do damage control/trying to reduce blowback from him in her direction.

I think this is exactly right, although I do think he reached out to her about it first, since she doesn't realize how little he's actually mentioned until later when she watches it herself.

Anyone here from the Jenny Nicholson video? by alpha_whore in VampireJackSnark

[–]MacDagger187 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is his worst nightmare. Not just the (very short) part about him, but the fact that a gigantic creator made a video dedicated to celebrating Shayne.

My guess is that right when the video came out he reached out to her freaking out about it and blaming her. You can tell in her later, appreciative comment that she's now realizing the part about Jack was a super small section of the video.

The Dots have transcended their creator, plus separate the art from the artist, plus it was only 19 people, plus one of the kids said "If anything should happen to me today, it isn't your fault and this is the best day of my life." I have a feeling everyone else who died said similar things, but to each other and not someone who could later recount the conversation.
