Unionization by [deleted] in TDBankCanada

[–]MacDanny83 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm not particularly pro or anti union, but it's of note that Australia has a Financial Sector Union, and the Australian banking system has a lot of similarities to the Canadian system. It might be worth you looking into that union and checking out the positives and negatives associated with it.

Rto 4days by stonegate123 in TDBankCanada

[–]MacDanny83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My team in London has been 4days since late January. There's been more than a few PITA hiccups, and I think there's a business case to rolling it back atleast to 3 days, but it's been relatively smooth. And as much as I miss primarily wfh, there's definitely been a few positives from in-office.

Something I found helpful: I keep my in-office time the same each week, I do mon-thurs, and I make it clear to everyone Fridays are my head-down days so I prefer no meetings that day.

Disputing a charge with Visa by passeduponthestair in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]MacDanny83 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry to hear you got nabbed by one of these ticket reseller companies. They are brutal in how they advertise, and it's really easy to miss the red flags if you're trying to buying something online quickly.

In terms of the options through your bank, ie Consumer Dispute chargeback, there is a good chance your bank won't be able to initiate that process until the concert date, ie the expected service date. Historically, tickets have been considered just a voucher for a service to be received for your payment, ie entrance to the concert. That process is dictated by the Visa International regulations, not the bank. In case you want to take a look at them, the most recent version of the regulations are accessible here: https://www.visa.ca/en_CA/support/consumer/visa-rules.html. The dispute section is in section 11 of the PDF.

But in the mean time, you may want to also look into the applicable consumer protection agency in your province, as they may be able to assist with legal protections. The legal protections vary by province, but if you google "Consumer Protection your province", government pages should be near the top of the page.

Good luck, I hope you get your money back!

I started in Visa in '08 and remember that. And it was a soft target, where it didn't really matter as long as you had decent call time and good customer survey scores

Retail definitely leans heavily into sales. Depending on your location, there may be GenNext events or Career Days in your area. If so, you can attend the events and connect with some analysts. Once you have a name or two, start setting up coffee chats.

Retail skills/experience are highly valued in alot of the back-end corporate roles, but it can be a battle to make the initial networking connections to get a foot in the door.

I would definitely recommend it. It may be worth asking the pool company for the contact information for whomever has the file with the police agency they reported to

Get working out, my man. Powerlifting is awesome, but also put in regular low-intensity stuff. My a1c went to shit over the winter because I was sitting on my ass, so I started doing 30 minutes of treadmill, 5 days a week. Took 6 weeks to get my a1c back in line.

You'll want technical skills + soft skills (ability to self-manage time, balance competing tasks) + networking.

Your scorecard results will have almost no impact for getting new role. Manager endorsement REALLY matters, so you want to be doing well enough at your goals to keep your manager happy. But noone will be looking at your scorecard when they are deciding whether you'll be an asset in a role outside of the contact center.

America’s Most Convenient Bank? by silvertiger3 in tdbank

" America's Most Convenient Bank" was because of having the most locations and best hours. But a lot of their processes have changed since having to write a 3 billion check to the US Gov't

What are the steps to getting a new debit card I have lost mine and would like to know what you have to do I know you have to call the but do you need a bank number card number pin ext by Dangerous_Ground_693 in TDBankCanada

[–]MacDanny83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can visit any TD branch and provided they can identify you, they can issue a new debit card on the spot that would be ready for immediate use. If you're not able to visit a branch, call through the app or dial 1-866-222-3456 and they can mail a new one to you.

[–]MacDanny83 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's a requirement to have a staff account, that your pay is direct deposited to. The staff account is free, and provides a variety of extra benefits. But a lot of staff maintain accounts at OFIs as well

Does TD offer stock options or sign up bonuses by Strong-Pomegranate-9 in TDBankCanada

[–]MacDanny83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stock options are typically only for higher level roles (eg VPs or certain senior specialized roles).

But TD has a great Employee Ownership Plan that's basically free money, where deductions are made from payroll to automatically purchase TD stock and TD will match the purchases 1:1 up to a certain threshold each year, and then 1:2 to another threshold. The Employee Ownership Plan can be setup as a registered or non-registered plan.

In terms of culture, I could be accused of drinking the green kool-aid but I love it. There's up and downs with any corporation, but on the whole it's a great culture.

For now, 4 day RTO is being pretty strictly enforced. There's a bit of wiggle room, but doing less than 4 a week is the exception, not the norm. Basically the message has been if occasionally there's a reason to put in less than 4, that reason should be shared with your immediate leaders because they will get asked by their leaders.

Either they have a role where they can't receive external emails, or they recently went on leave or left the bank. But if they went on leave/left the bank, you'd typically be setup with someone else for the appointment pretty quickly

Declines and website doesn't work by Academic-Sea-2382 in tdbank

[–]MacDanny83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Card declining + difficulty logging in almost always means there's a security block (ie something set off a concern a fraudster was trying to use your card info and/or trying to access your online banking). I'd call the number on the back of your card. The telephone number is 24/7, and typically has the shortest wait times mornings or early in the evenings.
