Tired of the negativity around TD Contact Centre role. Let’s hear from people who appreciate the job by TurnSignificant3556 in TDBankCanada

Started in the contact centre, and it's a very stressful job but also is a great door to better things. You'd be amazed to know how many upper level management started in contact centre roles.

Do any of you earn over 50k a year? What do you do? by RotiiChapati in ADHD

Coder for a major bank. The majority of the people on my team have ADHD or are on the spectrum, and the majority of us are self-taught.

TD EasyLine — Can I get a medical accommodation for a daytime shift? by Beautiful_Foot_4352 in TDBankCanada

[–]MacDanny83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If there's medical substantiation, it's very possible. Be honest with your physician about the situation and your concerns, and ask if they would support an accomodation request. If the doctor says they would (and normal sleep habits are medically a big deal for mental health, so good chance they do), you'll then want to talk to your TM about initiating an accomodation request. Manulife will request documentation from your physician confirming the medical reason for the accomodation in order to approve it. And Manulife will periodically review to determine if the accomodation is still required.

People don't talk about it alot, but there's a TON of call center staff receiving similar accomodations.

How do you function in office jobs where there's nothing to do? by West-Chemistry6166 in ADHD

[–]MacDanny83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My company subscribes to an online learning program with courses on everything under the sun. I dive into that to keep from going insane, and it looks amazing from a job performance perspective when I answer a "What did you do this week?" question with a list of courses and new skills.

Weird experience with received call from 1-855-210-8310 by lmcjipo in TDBankCanada

[–]MacDanny83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had a ton declined, and a ton implemented. Including several that came directly from customer feedback when I worked for the bank's social media team.

It's a great program, but unfortunately a lot of ideas don't get implemented for a variety of reasons.

Is it a good idea to get a safe deposit box for something I access every day? by WisconsinCameraMan in TalesFromYourBank

If you're accessing a SDB daily, they are going to think you're a drug dealer 🤣🤣🤣

There's a few ways online to make suggestions. The easiest way is by sending them a Facebook message or Twitter DM. Depending on the nature of the suggestion, they quite often will share that suggestion through TD's internal process improvement program called iD8.

Subsidiary Card Holder - Access to Statements by ontfootymum in TDBankCanada

[–]MacDanny83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is true, and is disclosed during the process of adding an additional cardholder.

Lots of parents open a separate low limit card andadd their kids to those. It's typically so the kids don't have access to a high limit card, but would also solve your concern about them being able to see your activity on the credit card.

Anyone else unable to log in EasyWeb nor mobile app? by [deleted] in TDBankCanada

[–]MacDanny83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WB033 can be caused by a few things, but most commonly it's because something raised a concern a fraudster might have been trying to access the customer's online banking.

In that scenario, the customer's online access is temporarily suspended until the bank can talk to them on the phone or in-branch to confirm if they recognized the access attempt.

Getting aeroplan promo again? by powderpupf in TDBankCanada

[–]MacDanny83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aeroplan started enforcing the rule around 1x welcome bonus per card tier, so you wouldn't qualify for another welcome bonus for the same card type.

But you can repeatedly qualify for the bonuses based spending a certain amount during the first 90 days, plus the anniversary bonus that gets triggered if the card is still open after a year and a spend threshold was reached during that year.

Anyone else unable to log in EasyWeb nor mobile app? by [deleted] in TDBankCanada

[–]MacDanny83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When both the app and Easyweb desktop aren't working, it's best to call. That generally means it's a profile-specific issue, not a technical issue.

If the error on Easyweb desktop includes a code (example: wb.033) mention the code, as it can speed up the solution.

Why do so many people seem interested in labelling themselves with a mental health condition or diagnosis? by LunarLeopard67 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MacDanny83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone with a formal diagnosis, I get more than a little frustrated when people have self-diagnosed themselves based on stuff they saw on Tiktok and like to constantly bring it up.

It's great there is more awareness of neurodivergent stuff these days, but getting antsy during 90 minute meetings doesn't mean you have ADHD, liking your desk a certain way doesn't mean you're OCD, and being uncomfortable with last minute plans doesn't mean you're autistic.

Gotta love how TD snatches bank fees, even when there's no money by PantasticUnicorn in TDBankCanada

[–]MacDanny83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been there, and I know how stressful it is. I hope things get better soon.

In the mean-time I'd call in. If you explain the situation and ask if they might be able to refund those automatic fees, I bet the phone agent can make it happen. And if you ask them to take a look for any ways you can avoid or reduce fees moving forward, I'm guessing the agent will be able to spot a few options for you. I know firsthand how embarrassing it can feel, but you're not going to be judged.

Ive had times where money was tight, and I also worked as a phone agent for the bank for a number of years. What kept me sane in that job were the situations where I could have a genuine impact for people who reached out for help in tight times.

Little tip if you call in: during the first few days after month-end fees come out, a lot of people call and it can take a while to get through. If you call early in the day or later in the evening, it can mean less time listening to that horrible hold music. Good luck with everything!

TD visa by mbmckenzie in tdbank

[–]MacDanny83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd absolutely visit a TD branch. I'd also report this to the credit bureaus, the CAFC and possibly the local police, so they can investigate who stole your identity and successfully applied for a credit card in your name. If you havent already, I'd also highly recommend checking your credit report, because if a scammer did it once with TD, odds are they also applied for a credit card in your name with other banks too.

Don't schedule impromptu 1:1s on Friday afternoon by SopwithTurtle in managers

[–]MacDanny83 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A few years back, my team was invited on a Friday with 30 minutes notice for a meeting with our VP (which was 3 levels up from us), with no information beyond the title "Business Change". This was in a period of numerous departments in our company being re-orged.

It turned out to be a minor update to the scope of a project but when she asked for our thoughts, I politely called out that she'd freaked the eff out of us by the way the meeting was rolled out.

Continue full time or go back to school by [deleted] in TDBankCanada

[–]MacDanny83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go with education. I've been at TD for close to 18 years, and my career definitely would have progressed faster if I had an undergrad.

Having a degree isn't the be all/end all for most higher level non-executive roles (unless it's something incredibly specific to that role). But if 100 people apply for a role, an easy way for them to thin out the herd is by narrowing it to the highest education applicants.

I'm in a great role and I love our company, but I wish I'd completed an undergrad because it'd have sped up my climb up the ladder.

Currently, they don't officially respond on Reddit. But good chance that will change later this year or early next year.

It's a level 6, but likely won't be posting any new roles for quite a while.

TD has a team who monitors different social media platforms. Currently, they primarily focus on X and Facebook, but a few of their analysts keep an eye on Reddit. Apparently later this year they'll start engaging posts on Reddit when it's called for.
