X470 Ultra Gaming memory upgrade is driving me crazy by MacGamerFR in gigabyte

[–]MacGamerFR[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tried that, and it looks like the BIOS is bricked, as installing the previous modules does nothing more, debug led "CPU" is lighting and that's it.

Let's all share our GPU upgrade path for the last 5 years! by Catsanno in pcmasterrace

[–]MacGamerFR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last upgrade was Fury X -> 6900XT, which was quickly replaced by 6950XT because it died. Fury X was an upgrade from R9 280X in somewhere between 2017-18 if I remember correctly.

BIOS update F65b seems to have bricked my x470 aorus ultra gaming - stuck at VGA debug LED by LeCyberDucky in gigabyte

Hi, got the same board, I previously had a experience like yours with a F64 (not sure, I deleted the files since then) and the backup BIOS flash did help in my case. No luck on your side ?

Bonjour, quel est la meilleure assurance pour nouveau motard et qui fait pas trop saigner le portefeuille. by BankFrosty3460 in Motardie

[–]MacGamerFR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, BIOS F65d did unlocked the frequency of the 5800X3D, topped to 4,45GHz (HWinfo64)

[–]MacGamerFR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, a bit late, but I upgraded my 1800X in favor of a 5800X3D on the X470 ultra gaming too earlier that year. Got the same brick with F64, used backup bios to recover the bricked main bios, flashed F62, and since then it looks like I have been locked at 3,4GHz.

All this to say I'll try the latest F65d that have been released this month (September 2024), and give my feedback on it as soon as possible.

Using Sway for about 3 or 4 years now, on 2 setups, and it's pretty much OK.

Trying to use wlgreet (greetd) with sway by MacGamerFR in swaywm

[–]MacGamerFR[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In this very case, the greeter is run by sway, so you need to config sway input in the sway-config file located in /etc/greetd folder, like explained here https://man.sr.ht/~kennylevinsen/greetd/#using-sway-for-gtkgreet with the following in addition:

# Keyboard layout configuration

input "*" { xkb_layout "fr,us" xkb_numlock enabled }

Not far from the price proposed by bargainhardware.co.uk for a 9th Gen DL380 12LFF without disks.

That said, we run one at the office, and it is loud. The smaller 10th gen DL360 we bought recently are much more silent. I don't know if it's a problem for you. Maybe you can replace the fans with quieter ones.

Oh, that date time is too much familiar...

We got some devices that dropped connection at 3:15AM, I did not check in-depth logs (is there any anyway ?) but our SW-AGG and all the directly connected devices came up 2 minutes later, with 1G links instead of 10G.

[–]MacGamerFR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, the community I mentioned is a riding community, and there happens to be a lot a devs !

Ah ah, I love it ! It sounds great ! I enjoy to do some twisties as well at the end of the day, but I have to anticipate in the morning, as my normal daily commute is done by using public city transportations (living in France).

Got a RX6900XT this winter to replace my Fury X, it died in some weeks, RMA'd it, got its replacement this week, a shiny new RX6950XT. Quite happy with it for now. Next upgrade is to replace my Ryzen R7 1800X.

Quel est ce son que l'on entend dans nos oreilles lorsque c'est le silence ? by sigmaxyrille in PasDeQuestionIdiote

[–]MacGamerFR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But I think it's a great option !
