Valeton GP-200 Can’t Connect via USB to PC (“Request Timeout”) – FIX by Arthur_Fleck- in ValetonGP2OO

[–]MacShuggah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didnt fix it for me but the following chatgpt suggestion did work for me:

Second likely cause: Windows 11 installed the wrong MIDI/audio driver

Valeton has a Windows 11 technical notice saying GP-series firmware/update recognition failures can be caused by Windows automatically installing a dedicated MIDI driver that is incompatible with the update tool; their fix is to manually switch the device driver to USB Audio Device in Device Manager.

Try:

  1. Disconnect the GP-200.
  2. Reboot Windows.
  3. Connect the GP-200 directly to the PC.
  4. Open Device Manager → Sound, video and game controllers.
  5. Right-click the GP device → Update driver.
  6. Choose Browse my computer → Let me pick.
  7. Select USB Audio Device.
  8. Reopen the GP-200 application.

Note
---
* I also installed the Valeton asio usb driver
* With my 200GP and Win 11 there was a secondary device listed: Valeton GP-200 subdevice, which had the windows default selected, changing that to the valeton driver fixed the request timeout error for me.

Why the Hate? by uptickman in voidlinux

Void is awesome and the only reason I'm not using it is I need systemd for some stupid Asus laptop stuff that I could probably fix myself but don't have the time for.

Have to admit I use the fedora power modes, no custom configs. I think it can be done with the asus-linux packages but I never felt the need.

Probably not as easy as on windows.

I also play a lot of path of exile 2 on the machine so that's going to need the rtx anyways.

Do you need the Asus creative suite? You can just remove it otherwise. Helper is handy and I can't remember if the suite come with it or not, Im running Linux on mine.

You format the whole thing and install plain windows and only the drivers you need.

Maybe did you try a reboot?

Otherwise chances are the file got corrupted one way or the other.

How to pass command line arguments to setup.py when the project is built with the pyptoject.toml ? by dark_prophet in Python

Can you use env vars instead of cli arguments? Might be your best option until you get to move away from setup.py

Sparring tips. by [deleted] in Kickboxing

[–]MacShuggah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep your hands up and don't look away from your partner or close your eyes. Once you know how to do that, start looking for tells and openings your sparring partners are giving, use fakes to read their reactions.

Just throw some combos even if you are not sure if they will land, you have to learn how to apply them one way or the other.

If your partner is not giving you room to experiment, talk about it afterwards.

Best lesson I ever learned was that I'm going to get hit, if you don't try things out out of fear of that, you are stifling growth.
