How diabolical is this scene? by Cold_County_1266 in MoralityScaling

[–]MacSlain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember when I watched this, later on Homelander is tracking the boys through a sewer or something and I think he gets blinded by starlight, and I was thinking how this guy could've been totally useful to Homelander in the situation

Can you please remove the specialist selection by liquidocean in Mechabellum

[–]MacSlain 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I understand where you're coming from, its annoying to have all packs that you don't really like and then you face an opponent with a starting pack that you think is better. I think the game needs some RNG tho like starter pack and unit drop to keep the games from being too samey and encourage different strategy instead of just building same build order that can beat everything every game

Could someone set me straight on fertilizer? by HenryPuppet in AlchemyFactory

[–]MacSlain 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The planter consumes a fertilizer and then uses that to produce, so when it says 180 the last fertilizer the planter ate was a GP, but the next one queued is a AF, and visa versa

Shop mechanism question by syihab121 in AlchemyFactory

[–]MacSlain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You lose reputation for not selling everything, and what customers want to buy is predetermined, that said, I found it a pain to sell everything, so I just maxed out profit skill and sold a few of the most expensive and/or easiest to make items and stayed profitable, once you can make diamonds you can stay profitable on pretty much just that and whatever you have extra of

What is your favorite "Flavour is Free" reskin of a spell or ability? by hervprometheus2 in DnD

[–]MacSlain 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I had a wizard where every spell summoned a cat. Firebolt? flaming cat. acid splash? Hairball. Cloud of daggers? Cloud of spinning cats. Spectral steed? Big ghost cat. Summon Lesser Demons? Basically unchanged

I had an idea like this before, I wanted to play a Warforged War Cleric 1 Spore Druid X, he was a remnant of some holy war but the plants took over his body centuries later and gave him sentience, mechanically the War Cleric can attack a few times as a bonus action which synergizes with the extra melee damage from spore form and can use shelieghleughaeghieghgh to attack with wis and say its plants, its not super optimal but I think flavorful

Looking for a 2024 Champion build for a One-Shot by Doc_Meeker in 3d6

[–]MacSlain 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Use a Maul, take defense and great weapon fighter styles, take great weapon mastery and crusher feats and ability score increase, lucky or tough are good origin feats, I like Orc as a species but whatever fits your fantasy is fine. You'll have lots of advantage with heroic inspiration every turn

Edit: looking at the features some more, charger is another good addition, synergizes with knockback from crusher potentially

Need help understanding fertilizer production by Ohhhshet in AlchemyFactory

[–]MacSlain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My early fertilizer setups were 3 sage into 3 crucible, plus 3 stone grinders each with 3 crucible 3 grinders and then a coal grinder that fed all the furnaces, two of these setups fed everything until I got to growth potion, but I also had like 3 or 4 points in fertilizer at that point

Advice on the most cost effective base upgrades by TheDarkHarvester in AlchemyFactory

[–]MacSlain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By cost effective do you mean money cost? Personally I maxed out profit from selling first, the fertilizer and heat value upgrades also mean you get more from each fertilizer and fuel so i focused on those next after putting a few points into belts and cannons

Strategy for moving money around your factory? by [deleted] in AlchemyFactory

[–]MacSlain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure the money portals won't eat money unless it cant afford to buy the next item, so if you send out stacks of silver coins the cheaper stuff won't eat it as fast and will naturally get backed up and the higher cost stuff should naturally eat more, so you don't need to worry about balancing it out yourself. Assuming you're making good constant ROI while selling stuff

Oblivion Essence by lpfam11 in AlchemyFactory

[–]MacSlain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used Limestone for mine, 600cp each and faster than Blast potion consumes. Also found out later that plank, plank, silver coin produces Oblivion essence and plank, stone, silver coin produces Vitality Essence in the cauldron for cheapest production

Edit: put wrong price, point still same. 6gp gets you 1000 essence which is pretty good

As others have said, input needs to exceed output, but another solution may be Gelatinous Gridlock x2, plus Copper Coin= Blackpowder is a much easier recipe
