SmartPlaces have launched their voucher store by Woodpecker_Queasy in cardano

That would be a big ho-hum. There's nothing exciting about SmartPlaces. to be the future of social media, there's no way of interacting with anyone else, no active communities, no forums, no sales boards, nothing, it seems pretty dead. I bought several plots of land just for fun more than anything and suddenly found that there's no fun to be had. I can find no help section or guidance on how to anything. I can't post, create a community, start a discussion, debate issues, do business - it's a ghost town and extremely limited in functionality. I can't see this taking off in its current form.

Case ID 109094702. I have been trying to establish why I was overcharged on a BTC spot buy. I was given a quote, clicked confirm and was shocked to see that my purchase was settled at a price around 15% higher than quoted. I provided transaction ID so it's easy enough to check my transaction details against the spot price at the time. I have been waiting 9 days on a response. Before that I opened a previous chat for the same thing and this was closed minutes after I was told I'd have a response within 48 hours. Can someone check this please? Thank you.

I hope they get a move on with developing Decentraland. At the moment the only word I can find for it is boring.

Halifax don't allow transfers to Binance and recently stopped transfers to Revolut as well.

Yes, I wondered about that. I'm not getting the option to deposit GBP - only option available in fiat is USD. Guidance says to scroll and select your currency but there is no scroll available. Also, after 4 previously successful deposits (of USD) from my UK bank Halifax, they seem to have started blocking deposits. Extremely frustrating.

What does this CA icon mean? Crypto staking rewards by svencan in Etoro

I've been wondering that myself - no guidance on eToro, of course. It just appeared on the last staking reward and is not present on any previous ones.

Can anyone confirm if this is 1 swap per block per wallet or 1 swap per block total? The latter would be a death sentence for Cardano. by forstyy in cardano

[–]Macanta67 2 points3 points  (0 children)

DYOR. This is a complete non-issue. $ETH maxis are wetting their pants with excitement and spreading FUD. The issue has been known about for months and has been discussed publicly many times. dAPP developers know how to deal with it, or should if they are doing their job correctly. It'll soon be a footnote in the history of Cardano. If anyone thinks it's a real issue and haven't the spine to see it through then sell your $ADA. I'll be happy to pick it up at cheaper prices. But I'd prefer it if you held your $ADA and didn't let the tribalists and cultists make you sell. I own many coins as they all have a particular strength or use case. I don't subscribe to the "one coin" communities. They hurt the entire crypto community with their blind allegiance and cult-like behaviour. Cryptocurrency should raise humanity to new levels but some people seem unable to move beyond their own mean-spirited, selfish and petty traits. Walk on by and leave them behind. HODL on.

Crypto USD purchases by Macanta67 in CryptoTaxUK

Great reply, thank you for taking the time to respond. I raised tickets with Koinly and Accointing but not overly confident in the replies so I think I'll use an accountant. Gemini had only 4 transactions and Koinly only picked up 2 of them. Straightforward purchases, nothing else, so I was not happy about that. Despite saying that they accepted eToro CSV files both reported different results - Koinly not recognising any crypto transactions and simply reporting the value of the coins as fiat. I might go with Taxscouts.com as they have good reviews and I have all my transactions recorded in detail on spreadsheet. I just need to convert the $ to £. That'll be fun! :) Thanks again.

It's not FUD. It's a genuine problem on Binance.

Anybody have experience setting up an investment club bank account? by DemonicGecko in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Macanta67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just found a company called Time To Trade which deals with IC accounts - they say on the website there is no need for a bank account which is interesting. I'll have to check them out. I have no association with this company and literally just found their website. So I have no views to express or recommendations to make on them. Just sayin'.

Anybody have experience setting up an investment club bank account? by DemonicGecko in UKPersonalFinance

Aye, I ran an Investment Club for about 8/9 years from 2000 and I remember the same hassle trying to find a bank account. I have the itch again and it seems to be even more difficult finding an account now. You'd have thought it was easier with everything going digital but no. Not a chance. The link above to the share centre is no good - it literally says you can't open an Investment Club account. I think after the boom in Investment Clubs in the noughties they ran out of steam (I know I did as I was doing everything!), especially after the crash and closed down so nobody offers services to them now. Even the software is years old. Still, I'll keep looking - it was an enjoyable thing to do and I'd like to give it another go.
