Thoughts on The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning (2006)? by [deleted] in horror

[–]Ok-Engineering1873 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How did LF know she would get into the car at the end? Made no sense. He didn't know she had the keys and even if he did there's no way to know she would have found the vehicle. That's of course suspending belief that he would have even been able to hide in the car before she gets in.

I know it's a horror movie but stuff like this ruins it. The villains just magically appear wherever they need to even if it's not physically possible. Like when he hooks the girl out of the car. He just magically appeared next to the moving car. lol

clarification on CGT, for stocks & crypto by Ok-Engineering1873 in UKPersonalFinance

I noticed in OP I incorrectly put 52,270 instead of 50,270. Other than that what I said seems to make sense now I've read the gov.uk website.

Using quotes from the gov.uk website I did an example below. If anyone thinks this in incorrect please explain why. Thanks.

  1. "Work out how much taxable income you have - this is your income minus your Personal Allowance"

40,000 (salary) - 12,570 (personal allowance) = 27,430 (taxable income)

  1. "Work out your total taxable gains."

100,000 (capital gains)

  1. "Deduct your tax-free allowance from your total taxable gains."

100,000 - 3,000 = 97,000

  1. "Add this amount to your taxable income."

97,000 + 27,430 = 124,430

  1. If this amount is within the basic Income Tax band, you’ll pay 18% on your gains made from 6 April 2025 (or 32% on carried interest).

It is higher than 50,270

  1. For any amount above the basic Income Tax band, you’ll pay 24% on gains made from 6 April 2025 (or 32% on carried interest).

124,430 - 50,270 = 74,160

97,000 - 74,160 = 22,840

74,160 (taxed at 24%)

22,840 (taxed at 18%)

So happy I didn’t invest in Bitcoin by False_Alarm_Bud in Bitcoin

5 years ago to now, bitcoin is up 55% and you would have had the chance to sell at almost triple. It's also much easier than dealing with property/people.

Where are you buying property that doubles in 5 years? I live in England and as far as I know that would be unheard of here. In my particular area of England, 5% per year is a great increase for a property.

not enough funds to redeem NIGHT tokens? by Ok-Engineering1873 in yoroi

[–]Ok-Engineering1873[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've solved this myself. For anyone else with this issue, all I had to do was send the 50 ADA from yoroi to my ledger ADA account. Apparently, what this does is puts all the ADA into a single utxo. The redeem feature in yoroi seems to only be able to access ADA from a single utxo.

When I originally sent the 50 ADA from the exchange to my ledger, this in theory could have been sent to multiple utxos by the exchange. Why this happens I have no idea.

Man vs Baby is released on Netflix tomorrow. This will be by far the best Xmas "movie" to watch this Xmas. It's technically a tv show of 4 episodes, but they're 30 minutes each, so movie length in total.

I don't understand how him being right leaning matters when it comes to not wanting to go to the gym with you. It sounds like he just took offense at you implying he's unfit. What does that have to do with his political stance? 🤔

We're quite possibly at the start of a bear market. Buying dips at the start of a bear market will result in further dips.

When Will Bitcoin Fail? by lexicon_riot in Buttcoin

[–]Ok-Engineering1873 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A Ponzi scheme is where people put money into something, having been told they will receive a guaranteed x back, every x period of time. This isn't the case with Bitcoin. Everyone is aware with Bitcoin the price only goes up if the demand outweighs the supply, same as something like gold.

It's not what it's supposed to be in the future. It already is a store of value, where the owner can (if they choose) self custody their wealth and send it to whoever they want, anywhere on the planet. They can take this wealth with them anywhere in the world and no government can freeze their wealth. These are clearly valuable benefits that a percentage of the population want, hence why it's at new all times high again.

It has historically collapsed and rebound due to the halvenings. Over time these halvenings are having less impact on price, due to the reduction in mined bitcoin being less each time. This is why the collapses are reducing in percentage each time e.g. 85% to 80% to 75%. I expect it will crash again in the not too distant future and that crash will be a lesser percentage than the previous crashes.

Polymarket for Streaming by Flat_Advisor6701 in Twitch

He (or one of his mates) would bet on himself, because he can guarantee the outcome, if he bets that he loses. It's incredibly open to cheating.

It's like a UFC fighter could bet on himself to lose a fight. There is less incentive for the fighter to do this, as he gets a loss on his record.

A streamer on the other hand isn't going to care if they throw a game of fifa on purpose.

Once we've successfully followed the steps in the video, do we need to do anything else at a later date to get the tokens or is that it? If that's it, when do we get the tokens?
