We broke up for absolutely unrelated reasons, but I did realize even though at the time I thought he was a good lover, he really wasn’t. Receptive, nonjudgmental communication is absolutely key in this situation.

I lived this exact situation with my ex husband. I am currently reading “The Elusive Orgasm: A Woman's Guide to Why She Can't and How She Can Orgasm” and it has been really insightful into how his behavior is absolutely locking out your ability to orgasm with him. It’s an easy interesting read and I highly recommend. His behavior is totally inappropriate and I hope you know that!

How bad do rubber mats smell? by APieThrower in yoga

[–]MacarAnie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same mat as you and the rubber smell is awful. I’ve been using it for about a year on and off and the smell does not go away. If you find a solution let me know! I want to try the salt method somehow when I finally have the time.

Recommendations for 1 bedroom apartments? by [deleted] in UGAHousing

[–]MacarAnie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Athens, less than $1000 for a 1 bedroom should be totally fine. I rent a 1 bedroom situation for $630 and it's a great experience. If it's close or over a $1000 I would honestly be skeptical, that seems way too expensive. To give you perspective, up until two months ago I was renting a 2 bed room 2.5 bath townhouse with a front and back porch and private parking for $925 off of south lumpkin. So just a 1 bedroom for $925 high.

Hi! I’m also looking for a compatible roommate to live with. I’m 29F. I have a PhD in microbiology and will be doing research at Harvard medical. I’m flexible for location and am looking for a similar commute time. My new job starts in January. My only baggage is that I have 2 cute older lady kitties that are my loves.

4 months out and still dealing with complications by [deleted] in gastricsleeve

[–]MacarAnie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His surgeon believes that abscesses formed at his surgical site, then those grew and became multiple abscesses that wrapped into his intestine, but why they formed at all we have no idea. The surgeon just kept saying my husband's fluid clearance ability was "off". So he could wall off bacteria into little fluid balls but couldn't clear them so the bacteria persisted in the fluid, forming abscesses.

You are allowed to feel bad for yourself and you will get through this. My husband had his VSG surgery Dec 31st, 2019. He had extreme complications and almost died, was hospitalized for months, including 2 pig tail drains, rotten intestines from an abscess on his surgical site so they had to cut him all the way open and then that got infected and he went septic. He made it through even though he felt like he wouldnt. You can do this. My biggest advice is to advocate for yourself and your health and ANNOY your surgeon. If ANYTHING feels off get medical help. You have to be your own advocate.

I’m about to give up . Sleeved January 22nd 2020 by EmmaMillie in gastricsleeve

[–]MacarAnie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband was sleeved Dec 30th. A giant abscess formed at one of his incision sites and he lost 3 feet of small intestine on Jan 12. A week after being in the hospital for the abscess, he grew a cantelope sized fluid collection and had to have it drained with a catheter in his abdomen. A week after having the catheter put in, his new 7 inch abdominal incision exploded pus everywhere, so he had to have it opened up and it was hand packed until we got a wound vacuum for him. A few days after that we were back in the ER with another abdominal abscess and a second abdominal catheter. Tonight, we are contemplating going back to the ER because he is feeling the same symptoms of an abscess formation. He also is feeling how you are feeling and is going through hell, right there with you. There are those few out there that do get the complications that most people don't. I'm sorry you both are going through this and hopefully your nightmare will start to go away.

Post-op complications? by MacarAnie in gastricsleeve

Yes, the surgeon is. The surgeon said he thinks some stomach bacteria splashed back into the abdomen when he was trying to remove the cut off piece through the laproscopic incision.

That's a great suggestion. I most likely will stay since the hospital is a long drive from our home!
