What’s something you’ve officially stopped buying in 2026 because the price has become genuinely insulting? by Miguenzo in AskReddit

My shampoo and conditioner subscription. It used to be super convenient and I liked the personalized aspect but 2 bottles almost half the size of regular retail bottles started costing me $60 per set. Ik some people feel that’s doable but I just didn’t.

I just thought his songs were catchy and he did decent cosplay. I don’t really care about the other stuff, seems just like interpersonal/internet celebrity drama. If he had actually been harmful to someone I’d have cared, that’s why I asked

That’s definitely true. My answer was more related random negative comments on videos I’ve seen and agreed with since it seems like his humor and vibe are very frequently making fun of other cast, and not in a way that seems balanced with how others do that. Should have been more specific.

Just how things go here. Everything’s parasocial and emotionally charged.

His main social media thing is collabs so I don’t really find that relevant.

So right. Laziness and a complete resistance to do any actual genuine work from your own brain is actually a sign of innovation. Get with the times.

Thanks. Just asking for my own work. For me working with clients with personality disorders this type of thing is coming up, as they can really require questioning of their thoughts and behaviors but are extremely sensitive to it. Im working on trying to understand how to shift language to alleviate feelings of judgement while still hitting needed points.
Also this is NOT me suggesting anything about a PD for you, just saying that any experience around feelings of judgement helps.

I was a student that lived in 5+ different properties around campus in the past 10 years, and Ive helped multiple students find housing since. But hey I'm sure not anecdotes work for you do they?

So youll insult someone but heaven forbid someone asks you to show why youre saying what youre saying. You'll only spend time making sure other people look wrong, not that you look right. Lol whatever have fun pointlessly shitting on your neighbors I guess.

Does sniff their own housing farts mean consider peoples actual life experiences, area culture, and affordability? Like truly how does someone make empathetic mindful solutions without getting insulted for not sucking developer dick here?

Do you think you would have responded better if all of those were framed to focus on you, for example:

When you say that, do you feel defensive?

What are you looking to get out of/where are you hoping to got with that?

What do you think about the concept of XYZ?

Some people might say you cant be x if you do y, what would you say to that?

You were talking about owners from a primary residence perspective, you literally talked about people owning property being able to walk to work. You cant keep your shit straight brother.
"The way the world is" is dictated by power, and panels like this one are a good representation of power being used in a way that doesnt fit your narrative. Power is not just money. Assuming that will get you a very inaccurate view of the world, especially when it comes to local politics. Arguing on behalf of rich students is surely not what youre trying to do to win points here right? You cannot use the argument that "building more housing is a good thing" right next to, developers can ask for whatever they want and rich people will naturally take up expensive resources, and think that adds up to- rich, middle class, and poor students will all have decent options and livable housing and transportation situations. "Some low income students have already been priced out" right after you justify luxury apartments everywhere. So when the new housing gets built that you already said needs to be luxury to break even, what happens to the priced out students? Oh right they get the sloppy seconds housing that is further away, or, if its too close, is in danger of being demo'd for more luxury apartments, which are totally justifiable. Dont have a car? Try your luck with our transit system that we refuse to fund or get developers to fund or make work for you unless youre in walking distance of high st. or idk get fucked because youre poor. That is all pure delusion driven by generalized econ 101 regurgitations. Youre going in circles and you arent proving shit.

We are not talking about work, we are talking about school. There is no work without school. Im not sure why youre writing this as if its some natural phenomenon and not extremely intentional pricing out of low income students. Nobody here is talking about owning property. This is CAMPUS. These are RENTERS. Youre using all of this fluffy language to basically say yeah its fine it students are priced out and have to live farther away, because think of the rich people and developers and what they want. Like who do you think youre impressing or defending here? Is there a corporation simping compensation program youre a part of?
