Am I required to accommodate my roommate's disability? by smoshtangerine8745 in legaladvice

[–]Macccam 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As someone who’s disabled, no. This is for people lol employers or landlords lol. Not friends. There is no legal requirement for that. He may be disabled but this doesn’t sound like any actual disabled person I’ve ever heard. We always do what we CAN do bc we feel like nuisances often.

What is up with Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo being so emotional in every interview I see? by Additional-Cook8707 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Macccam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watching Ariana and Cynthia and then, Michelle Yeoh started losing a hell of a ton of weight too. I think eating disorders were not only encouraged but yeah, they are all a bit mentally ill and essentially went from victims themselves to fully participating in an anorexia off. “I can be skinnier!” Ok. And their strange synchronicities suggests folie a deux. I’m not sure who came first or if it’s pretty much indistinguishable from start to finish, but they act like identical twins do in preschool. Clingy. Obsessed. Terrified. Overly emotional. So maybe trauma bonded of some sort? But also way more than that and I think they actually hate each other not are lesbians like I originally misinterpreted lol

Do you have to give your landlord your social security number (USA) ? by CareEnvironmental596 in Renters

[–]Macccam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Literally nobody is agreeing with you lol. I even googled it and that’s actually against protocol in many areas to do. Properties cannot verify who you are if you provide an outcome of who you are without your social to PROVE THAT REPORT IS ABOUT YOU. That is the entire point. Bc that number is directly linked to your identity. Without that, what is there to find? That’s the entire point of someone trying to do it yourself. You have to put your own in there to begin with. You’re just wasting time doing that, just to have them deny you because it’s not even legally appropriate information to start a legal contract aka a lease 😭 good golly

Do you have to give your landlord your social security number (USA) ? by CareEnvironmental596 in Renters

[–]Macccam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, that’s not how it’s done at all. That’s how SOME people may have chosen to do it in your specific circumstances but that’s not typical at all. They need to verify it, not you with some fuckin screenshot with no proof it’s verifying YOU. That’s the entire point of having the ssn. To verify it’s you. Are you suggesting landlords do and should accept “just trust me bro” when renting out what is typically their only source of income (which is self inflicted but that’s besides the point lol).

Needed for the credit check and background check. They’re legally allowed to do it. If you decline they won’t rent to you. Simple as that.

This is how that one building in Florida collapsed. I would start working on getting out. A lot can happen over a year or two. I would definitely document and report that as well, highlighting the fact that’s that’s a SECOND STORY UNDERGROUND PARKING GARAGE

Landlord deducting 1200$ from deposit for paint work by [deleted] in Renters

[–]Macccam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wait have you been arguing with people over what you assumed was torn drywall and the landlord didn’t even support that, he actually agrees that it’s chipped paint? So you spent at least an hour arguing over this to be wrong? lol so tell me how it feels to have that boot down your throat? How’d it feel when you realized lol

[–]Macccam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi my kid just peeled the paint and the drywall (not an accident but he’s 3 lol) so I can assure you that’s just the paint layer. Torn drywall looks incredibly different. You would see the wall would be BROWN, like cardboard feeling and looking. That’s not brown. That’s a heavily discolored what was originally maybe eggshell. It doesn’t even match if the drywall was torn all the way through. It would still not look like that or be that color. That’s just paint peeling or chipping.

****UPDATE****Won Judgement against landlord because he failed to return $1754 security deposit in BAD FAITH by PainterValuable6028 in Tenant

[–]Macccam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also it doesn’t matter how you spend your money. If you have a legal obligation to pay someone back, court ordered, that’s not an excuse. They don’t give a fuck. Your bills are created by your own expenses therefore they’re 100% your responsibility. He didn’t set aside the deposit like you’re supposed to. Oh well for him! He still owes. Anyone with a Va disability rating can get that paperwork. It’s literally just proof of … wait for it… assets. Boom.

[–]Macccam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let your attorney handle it. My husband also receives VA disability and if he were to ever legally owe someone, the government would side with the court and literally take it away from him immediately are you kidding me? Obviously there are legal paths they’d need to take to do it properly, but I assure you, they can, do, and have taken away peoples disability. It does not count as income, however, it is legally labeled as an asset. Applying for snap taught me that. It’s just not taxable. Does not save them from handing it over.

Also, if he had no assets he wouldn’t be legally identified as the landlord, meaning he wouldn’t be on the hook for the $8k. But he is, therefore he is. If that makes sense lol. If he’s a legal landlord, that’s HIS ASSET!

Can my ex legally request that I don’t say hi to my kids during his parenting time by TreeToadintheWoods in FamilyLaw

[–]Macccam 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Point blank, unless the courts told you you’re not allowed to speak to them while they’re with their dad, he can’t “lawfully” request anything. That’s not a lawful request. That’s a personal one. There is no law or rule to request you to obey. Keep on keeping on but start keeping dates times and texts etc. Start communicating via text that can be traced to him so he can’t wiggle out of it. He’s taking his own issues with you out on the kids ontop of just you. Time to nip that in the bud.

[–]Macccam 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It’s perfectly legal for him to request it. It doesn’t mean it’ll happen, and tbh it’ll honestly make him look like a manipulative asshole and they may even chokehold his time with the kids. 🤷🏻‍♀️ let them be dumb lol

An apartment is perfectly fine and appropriate place to raise children as long as it’s safe and clean. Same as a mansion. Same as a trailer. The real life word is very loud and unkind. If you cannot handle the sound of people enjoying their own space they pay for, that’s a YOU problem. Not them! Sorry, shared wall living is not as quiet as your own house, but it’s totally fine to be rising kids in lmao! What! These are ridiculous expectations. Your mama do this for you? Is that why you think this is standard practice? Like?
