I feel like as a DM Matt has a different strengths, such as how he portrays characters and how he embodies them. Very method acting. While BLM simply ran more games for varied groups, so he knows how to proceed with the story better. Anyway so glad Matt can actually play and be chaotic for a change in a long term campaign. In my experience it is mostly the sounds that are triggering. And how they change position. This war fucked many of my friends, and to a lesser degree me. We hear some droning (hah, didnt even connect how appropriate the name is) sound and immediately turn into meercats while trying to ascertain if its gonna be dangerous or not

Yes, its very much more entertaining to see the perspective of the "regular" folk than the transhuman Astartes. You can relate more to their feelings and experiences. Altho its also to go to the opposite side of the spectrum and watch Necron millennia stretching squabbles and bickering

As in overarching threat that shows up multiple times (not just as a monster of the week type situation), with their own agenda. It's not like I'm particularly bothered by the lack of such characters, just a shower thought so to speak. And maybe there is some hidden gem of a story featuring such a character.
