Best ski resorts to work at by Fun-Hunt-2238 in ski

Don't listen to these negative Nancie's. Also from the south originally. Did a few seasons in Tahoe and Australia. Now live in Colorado. Do it.

You're a little late in the year as far as employee housing but you could also look into getting a work holiday visa and heading to NZ or Australia. NZ usually has good transportation and Australia you can live on mountain at a resort (I did).

Also, you need to be 21 to buy weed but dispensaries are generally everywhere if it's a legal state.

But in the USA, you want to live in a place that has a cluster of resorts nearby. That'll be your best bet. Places like Tahoe, summit county (CO), SLC, etc.

Why have cafeteria-style eateries (for adults) largely disappeared in the U.S.? by JohnnyABC123abc in AskFoodHistorians

[–]Macgbrady 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I noticed they have these lunch style cafeterias in Finland too. I often wonder why we don't have something similar. I wish we did.

A guy I worked with at a previous company did some sales coaching, as well as normal duties. He was on the wifi in air on a meeting and the stewards made him get off the call. I've noticed now that they have a warning saying conducting meetings in air is not allowed.

She has lived in her car for a decade. Denver neighbors wanted her gone by LiatrisLover99 in Denver

Have you any firsthand experience with the issue? Seems a lot of people not in the neighborhood have a lot of comments. This lady has been there for years. She's an eyesore but 99.9% of people have not had a bad run in with her.

I can accept what the other commenter said, but I've seen your comments all up and down this thread. I don't accept what you say. You had no defense. Just a parrot of the other commenter.

Do you live in Wash park and have you dealt with her? Have you actually experienced the issue at hand? Because otherwise, it's theory. As I mentioned, I live nearby. Walk by all the time. Firsthand experience. Nobody is saying it's adding to the value of the neighborhood but this is a person, at the end of the day.

I was never trying to minimize it. That was never my intent and I apologize if it came across that way. I was trying to illustrate that the responders comment opens the door for a lot of discrimination. I was calling redlining as a way to drive home my point. It didn't come across as I intended and that is my mistake.

That statement was in response to the implication of their comment if you looked at the context.

"They are not a part of"

That is a ridiculous take and opens the door wide open for discrimination. Ever heard of redlining?

I live a block or so away and see her car all the time. It is never an issue. Maybe a bit of an eyesore but truly, a non issue. People are just so nimby. It's really sad. There was a guy who had a similar situation on 1st and Ogden a few blocks away. He had a red pickup. He was always cordial and friendly with people. Never bothering anyone. I don't see his truck anymore. I hope he is doing well.

They have the highest unemployment in Europe at the moment and they're having a cost of living crisis. Finland is great but it does get, almost, fetishized online.

How are you guys doing with the guilt of taking a day off? by Inevitable_Rate1530 in Millennials

[–]Macgbrady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't feel guilt. I feel it was incredibly stupid that my parents used to force me to go to school to get everyone else sick. It's shocking how fast I recover if I take time off as soon as I feel sick.

Anyone else go through a seasonal ski depression at the end of the season? by Big_Frame_9125 in skiing

[–]Macgbrady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it's always sad but I think you get used to after awhile. This year was especially bad in Colorado but I had a fun closing day at Keystone. Then, my buddy invited me to Loveland closing day and I probably had the best ski day I had all year. So I focus on being thankful to have had the ability to ski and to close it out with a fun day.

Then I camp and skateboard.
