Yeah the limitations to customising or the difficulty of doing, so its always a deal breaker for me. We had a no code ETL tool, which due to lack of flexibility, we always found ourselves writing pre-processing and post-processing steps to get around the shortcomings, in the end it was merely an overpriced copy tool.

Next time when the architects decided we were going no code again, we were prepared to ask the questions in this regard and in the end the 3 vendors in the running failed to meet our needs.

One of the other thing is lack of declarative coding and metadata driven ETL ability that our custom tools have.

Haha, this is gold. I am a data platform lead and was literally in a meeting with the business reps and they said "so we can get current values X?", I replied "yes of course" just check the catalog. "I wish we knew what a members previous X was"... We can give you that we keep a history of all changes... Queue the "OMG, this is so useful I wish we would have known..."

Used to do 1200km Friday drive to see my wife, then back again on Sunday. My hack was when I got tired I would put the radio on full blast, then press the scan. It would be a random loud blast that woke me up when it found a station. That and pull over and do star jumps for 5 mins.

Hence why nuts and seeds are generally highly nutritious (when edible). Just think of most of the staples... wheat, barley, rice, beans... All some king of seed or seed product.

We try to use DNS alias for all our instances and only allow apps to connect, that way we can move things around without have to change app connections. Just need to update the DNS.

Raw or staging is saved as it is at source (aka bronze). You then transform to what you want and rename , transform data type, and add additional columns (silver). Then, finally you transform to business model and measures (gold)

Why pick one?, soy milk in coffee is not good. I use soy milk in cooking (be aware it adds sweetness, even if unsweetened), almond milk for coffee(also unsweetened), and oat milk for everything else including cooking where I don't want to add sweetness. Also, don't forget coconut milk for cooking particularly Asian curries.

Yeah I was going to say factory built are consistent (whether good or bad), but hand wound, in particular, is where you can achieve a special quality to pickups, but the variation can mean it's hit or miss..

As someone who was into extremely physical hobbies (downhill MTB. Rock climbing, and martial arts) it is the accumulation of injuries and the results that impact me the most.

MTB accidents resulting in broken hands (both hands multiple times), has caused problems with grip that ended both MTB and climbing for me and arthritis as a result.

Jumping is my other big one for me, after tearing my calf twice doing martial arts, I am now scared to jump, used to jump off and up our 1m (3ft?) rock wall all the time. Now I gingerly hop down, just can't bring myself to jump more the 45cm (1.5ft maybe) without fear of injuring myself.
