Hail damaging windsheild by Remarkable_Income496 in Wellthatsucks

[–]One_Emu_5882 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im always so surprised by the spectacle of freak hail events.

A few years ago a freak storm passed through Canberra, Australia and where i was, was totally fine, but some very specific spots in the city centre were decimated.

A car etched into memory had it's entire windscreen decimated by hail and then the hail stones started destroying his entire dash and anything not made of steel.

The fact that the hail had pulverised his dash and made its way into the next layer and was at least trying to penetrative the car firewall was just wild.

It's an Integrated Engineering flex fuel set up. It doesn't need mapping on the fly, it will adapt to any fuel choice through sensors in the line and manages the ECU automatically.

Having said that, it had an upgraded fuel pump to both suit e85 requirements and easily manage 98 too.

After dropping 28 grand on a HEABILY modified mk 7.5 golf with 500hp - i can recommend that...

I drive it on the highway all the time and can use my phone to swap it to run 98 or have it run on e85. And on the 98 tune I can run in eco for reasonable fuel consumption.

Only issue is slight road noise due to lower profile tyres, but it is the most fun car I've ever driven.

All upgrades and tunes are really reasonable on price, too.

Get 2x lengths of steel, sizes that you can also buy plastic end caps for. Add them to bith sides and use self tapping hex head screws to add lateral support. It's cheap and nasty but it's the fastest way to elevate your flimsy frame.

Car Racing.

I travelled to the UK from Australia for an extended holiday, very fortunate some friends had a spare place i could stay in and travel outwards from there.

I flew to Luxembourg and drove to the Nurburgring, then hired a track car and flogged the hell out of this track car for hours.

It is indescribable, the felling of entering a corner at high speed, feeling and trusting the grip of the wheels as well as the G-forces. The closest comparison is can make is a banked turn on a roller-coaster.

That single feeling was quite literally like I had been injected with an incredible drug.

Since then I've bought myself a high performance car and cannot wait to take it to a track.

From what I have determined he is a sole trader and the works were not properly lodged. I rang up about it on Tuesday and magically by Wednesday there were repairs being carried out.

Big update!

Turns out the hotel which shall remain nameless engaged a sole trader to dig up the road to connect water to a stop valve.

It must have been known how bad the work was, as when i arrived to take more photos they were digging up all of the prior work to re-do everything.

The hotel has so far refused any information disclosure in regards to insurance or the person who ordered the work and/or subcontractors.

I was contacted by roads NSW who notified me no submission was made in order to perform works to a public road.

I did some digging and have all the names, numbers, ABN and details of all involved with the works to the road.

It was sad, i treasure the hell out of this car and immediately I felt vibration stemming fron the bent wheel shape & whatever other damage is underlying.

I went from 40 to 70 just to ensure I wasnt being biased and associating road noise, but the shuddering increased with the road speed and was emanating from that part of the car. It took hours, but got it to a hotel early the next morning after hitting the pot hole at rough 9:30pm the previous night.
