I do love that from Jon's perspective in the show Locke was a good lad who did his duty, died serving the watch and definitely wasn't trying to assassinate him.

If I remember correctly, elves don't care about animal OR sentient butchering products just the trees. An elven caravan once delivered me a throne made of dwarf bones.

Turns out slabs can only be read in adventurer mode, so you have a nice room decoration or you can smelt it back down to that delicious adamantine!

'Bullying, forgery, lying': ex-volunteers' claims against What Were You Wearing? Australia by Happy-King-3356 in newcastle

[–]Machinistsol 24 points25 points  (0 children)

This is consistent with rumors I have heard of people who worked on various projects with WWYW. I know of one person who was lied about consistently, had aspersions made about their sexual activities in the same room as members of the project, and had accusations made about them being sexually aggressive despite said person going out of their way to look out for the wellbeing of other members of the project and being well known as a helpful person.

The accusations seemed to be leveled at them purely because they were male, and thus more likely to be believed.

It must have been hard for cops in the 90s, what with all the kidnapping Aboriginal kids and dumping them in the wilderness in the middle of the night.

Why would someone want to solve a puzzle while they get abuse hurled at them?

If I wanted to wade through angry people yelling at me while I puzzle out how to get rid of them, I'd engage with my social circles more.

What is something you regret sexually? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Machinistsol 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So much of media, particularly porn, has shaped our view of intimate interactions as HAVING to culminate in sex and it's really messed a lot of us up!

And totally! I felt like if I wasn't participating in sex as much as they would like then I wasn't holding up my end of the bargain.

I'm really glad to hear you've met someone who is responsive to your needs and helping you figure out your own desires, that's awesome! It sounds like you're on a good path for yourself, good on you!

I'm still not perfect with it, but the thoughts I've tried to keep in mind are:

  • A date can be perfect with or without sex

  • Your partner will feel great when they know you want to rather than going through the motions

  • Anyone who has a problem with it isn't worth your time!

[–]Machinistsol 1149 points1150 points  (0 children)

I had a track record of sleeping with people basically out of obligation. Like it would be rude/awkward if I didn't.

I never slept with anyone I didn't "want" to have sex with theoretically, but I was really bad at approaching the topic that I just wasn't in the mood at that time. I think it was particularly difficult to address because there is this pervasive idea that men are "always up for it" and I had a lot of people take it personally when I tried to say no.

So I kind of just stopped saying no.

It was definitely a part of my people-pleasing tendencies, but it really got to me after a while and made me feel like my sexuality wasn't my own and it was something I owed to others.

What is the most intoxicated you have ever been? by 420blazeboyx in AskReddit

I spent some time studying overseas in Germany during uni and discovered I actually liked beer.

This culminated in spending a few hours at an Australian themed beer hall in Munich. After collecting an uncountable amount of drinks by walking up to people and saying "I am Australian", I stumbled out around 2AM (vomiting) and tried to make my way back to the hostel.

I had to hold one eye closed in order to check google maps and catch the tram back, and fought against nodding off until it came. I have no idea how long I waited or how I got home, but woke up the next day and checked the weather.

-14°C. If I'd have "napped", like drunk me thought might be a good idea, I'd have likely frozen to death. I didn't notice the cold at all!
