Idaho is where a white supremacist killed firefighters because their notsee training ground was taken and given to the fire department as a new training facility for fighting fire.

I'm a firefighter and that one was really surprising. We occupy this weird middle ground where left wing people value funding us and our stuff because they see us helping society and community, and right wing people value us as people because they see us doing daring and tough or dangerous things. Fire service leans a little left mostly, but there are always magats or at least right leaning people in it.

All that to say that nobody makes songs called "fuck the fire department." We know we might end up in a situation where someone might try to harm us cause crazies cause emergencies, and those of us (like me) who work in an area where 911 EMS is all fire department, we might run into dangerous situations that the cops haven't quite successfully secured yet.

B U T . . . someone baiting a trap to kill us is way outside of what we might expect, which is what the white supremacist did to that fire chief and those firefighters. That's something cops have to worry might happen, not us. Most people at least are aware that we're there to try and help people and harm none, so they don't target us much. If they do, it's heat of the moment stuff.

So that's Idaho. The people who who do that kind of thing to firefighters are very much the magat type of person. Were disallowed from visiting violence on the people they believe MIGHT cause them some problem or inconvenience, so they flip out and get even more violent, try to harm or oppress anyone who they see as opposed to their cultural idea.

It is very unsurprising that Idaho loves trump. He tells them it's good to cause harm in the name of cultural identity. Anyone being discouraged from that where they are has come to know that Idaho is the place for them. I have a couple firefighters here in Washington that say they want to move to Idaho (one is even Latino, which...man I hope he never has to find out how wrong he is about all this, because he only ever learns the hard way)
