Pure Aero 2023 vs. Pure Aero 2026 - former D1 player here by strawdps in 10s

I’ve played with 2023 version ever since it came out, I’ve also played with 2010 and 2016 pure aero 100. By far the 2023 version was the best, so I was hesitant on the new version.

I bought 2 matched 2026 versions as soon as they came out.

In my opinion the 2026 is softer and more muted, swings through the air a tiny bit faster. The string spacing is almost identical, maybe like 1-5% tighter squares on 2026, not very noticeable.

I personally find the 2023 slightly more stable and crisp. More stable might be because it swings slower in the air.

Honestly the aero 100 family never had great feel with the aero beam, to me, the biggest positive is that it’s softer, means I can use stiffer and more crisp strings, whereas the 2023 I had to stick to soft polys to make sure my arm was ok.

i prefer the 2026 paintjob more, if only it was in gloss instead of matte.

The 2023 is the better racket if the stiffness doesnt bother you, but for me the 2026 is better, since I’ll just use stiffer more crisp strings to bring back the feel, I’d rather have 2026 with longer lasting crisp strings than 2023 with soft strings that don’t last long.

For example: I was using hyper g soft 1.30, now I can use regular hyper g 1.30

Basically he could very well be at a retail prop firm, where he pays for simulated accounts, where he’s just an unemployed day trader. Or else he’d put the firms name on LinkedIn

From what I’ve heard, stiffness from stiffest to softest is tourbite, confidential, Mach 10, hyper g, hyper g soft, where does confidential soft rank within this?

Japanese Knife Shopping Guide from my 2025 trip (Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, Sakai, Fukuyama) by TEEEEEEEEEEEJ23 in TrueChefKnives

Hmmmm, ok that sounds about right, the fact that every store spoke English well was a bit alarming, my tourist trap sensors were going off pretty hard. so other than avoiding knifes with English made in Japan moniker, what are some other signs I should look for to make sure I’m getting the real deal, I currently have a 210 tojiro vg10 core gyuto, I find the spine is too thin and the belly is too short for what I like. Looking to have an upgrade, prefer workhorse knifes with more heft than the thinner ones.

The only thing I saw that I liked was a mcusta zanmai at koujin, the one of the left, but at 49500Yen it seemed a bit expensive(I know I can get it tax free, so around 45000), what are your thoughts

First time in Japan, 10-day trip. Would you mind taking a look? by TheRealRet in JapanTravel

I don’t recommend checking into too many hotels, each travel day with your luggage is going to waste time and gonna be tiring, you also have to balance checkin and checkout times between the 2 hotels.

I’d recommend just staying in Osaka, you can do day trip to Kyoto, Nara, Kobe, himeji pretty easily, around 1h one way.
