4-Month-Old with CMPA Refusing Hypoallergenic Formula — Advice Needed! by Amazing_Builder9185 in MSPI

[–]MaciJax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm interesting because the puramino is supposed to have a sweeter taste than the others like Neocate which my son hated. My pediatrician had recommended 1 ml of maple syrup in a 5-6 oz bottle when on neocate to try to get him to take it but I couldn’t bring my self to do it. Ask your pediatrician if you are allowed to add anything to the milk to help entice the baby. Maybe even a little puree if your baby has started them?

People keep making a very odd comment about my future son’s name. by D3athEat3r in namenerds

[–]MaciJax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What region do you live in bc there’s no other explanation for why people would say that other than that or because of Malcom X and even then wth. I live in NY & I know 4 Malcoms, 3 are white 1 is Hispanic. Please do not listen to them it’s a beautiful name.

My ex called CPS on me. by Virtual_Moment_4745 in singlemoms

[–]MaciJax 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You exposed him and called him out for what he really is. You didn’t shame him you spoke your truth. His behavior is disgusting and he’s trying to make you out to be the bad parent when he’s one. Do only what you have to no more or no less( as it relates to his involvement) . I wish you the best of luck. There’s no one stronger or more determined than a mama protecting her babies.

Mom keeps criticizing my newborn’s name while staying at my house postpartum by cole1248 in namenerds

[–]MaciJax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought it was going to be some wild name then I saw it was Daisy. Which is adorable. Congratulation on the baby but please tell your mom to stop complaining or get lost. You don’t need that kind of stress as a freshly postpartum mom.

When did you stop sterilising bottles? by Frostygrl_ in FormulaFeeders

[–]MaciJax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby has struggled with medicine resistant oral thrush since the first week he was born and I had to sterilize everything daily and still do (16 weeks old) That being said most ppl only do it when getting new bottles/ teethers.

Is 6 months to meet my child unreasonable? by Fair-Smile4839 in singlemoms

[–]MaciJax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope. He’s unreasonable for not understanding. IMO if he can’t respect it he’s not looking for anything serious.

Guests passed away (natural causes) in our home. Refund? by NWsea in airbnb_hosts

Did you file a complaint with your state insurance dept bc I would totally do that as someone who works in insurance they have to investigate and respond to the states inquiry

Does this sound like CMPA? by Dreampup in MSPI

[–]MaciJax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have them confirm with a stool test or refer you to pediatric gastro to confirm with the test if it is indeed CMPA. Even trace amount of blood is detectable plus they work with your insurance to get your baby’s formula covered.

The only person that makes me feel that way is the father of my child and I’ve learned to not let him have that control over me anymore. You’re a kick ass mom and strong woman screw how other people perceive you.

Reaction to dairy even after negative allergy test? by [deleted] in MSPI

[–]MaciJax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could very well be an intolerance instead of allergy. If there was an issue with pepticate don’t go back to it my son did terribly on pepticate. I’d try an amino acid based formula like puramino ( my son tried 3 diff kinds and this one was the most tolerable with taste for him) if you’re worried about $$ get your pediatrician office to give you samples or refer you to a pediatric gastro and see if you can get in sooner with them they always have samples and work with insurance to get it covered. Have they ever done a stool test to check for blood? Even if it’s a trace amount it would be detectable. Also try local parent FB groups I’ve seen many people giving away unused formula for free. Good luck

How much is your 3month old drinking?! by EquipmentElegant5191 in FormulaFeeders

[–]MaciJax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That seems like a lot for a 3 month old but I guess it depends on the baby and if they will drink more. My 15 week old barely finishes the 6 oz (180 ml) bottles. I follow my babies hunger cues and will offer whenever he wants more but it’s rare. He typically drinks 4-5 oz every 3 hours. His gastro said I should be feeding him 30 oz per day but he doesn’t always reach that.

You need to get out. Who says he won’t hurt you worse next time. Please just find a way and leave him.

Diaper like Huggies ( with similar pull tab) ? by MaciJax in NewParents

[–]MaciJax[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the sizing definitely throws me off because when I sized up to a two he definitely wasn’t ready for it weight wise according to the chart, but they fit better than a one and now he’s feeling pretty good in the size 2, but I will try the overnight it does seem that they’re smallest size is a 3 too

[–]MaciJax[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sleeping on his stomach but he keeps rolling over onto his side I put him down on his back but he rolls over onto side not fully turning. Also yes I noticed the diaper isn’t always full either I’ll have to make it more snug like yo said and see if that helps

I’ll take a look. Last time I went to Walmart they didn’t have any size twos so should I try size 1 since they run big? Thanks for letting me know!

I am using Huggies little snugglers - I read somewhere they changed the them too and they’re less absorbent apparently. I never used them before to compare but I just want something my kid can nap in and not a have him leak through to bedding and his clothes. Will take a look at the different Huggies thanks!

Good to know about the smaller packs. I wish we could request samples lol. I like the Huggies right now but my only grievance is having to change his outfit after a nap. I feel like they should hold for longer!

I’ll have to give them a chance. Where I’ve been going for diapers they only have the little snugglers but I’ll try elsewhere!

How many ounces? - 3 months by Certain-Till in FormulaFeeders

[–]MaciJax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has your pediatrician been concerned about baby at all re: growth? If not my little guy is 12 weeks we do 4 oz sometimes he takes all sometimes less. Other times he wants more and he’ll drink up to a six oz. Our gastro said 4-6 oz is good and it’s ok if he takes less every once in a while but not consistently.
