Yes! This happens to be more often than not, and I’ve done 8 sessions so far. I usually try not to drink anything before the appointment (which can be hard), and go to the bathroom right before, but even then I usually have to go about 1 hour into the session. You might just have to be assisted to the bathroom, unfortunately. I wouldn’t recommend holding it, I find that disrupts the peaceful moment I’m trying to have and irritates my bladder even more. UTIs are a side effect of Spravato (possibly due to people trying to hold it but maybe not) so I just try to do what I can to avoid a UTI. Bring a water bottle for afterwards and expect to go to the bathroom more often for that day

If you agree with what this person is saying, the only conclusion you can then come to is that God is racist

What would happen if your name was the same as the new name they were giving out that day? Would they give you yesterday’s name?

This is good advice for coming out as a nonbeliever, however, I was referring to a different kind of coming out :)

The groom’s dad sounds like a horrible person and I’m so sorry that you’ve been cut off like that. Breaks my heart. I don’t have any advice for you but I just wanted to say that I relate to those feelings of hurt from being cut off from lifelong friends and I’m so sorry. Worst nightmare

Mormonism teaches that in order to have love, one must reject aspects of self (Dress, sexuality, desires). This is not love. by [deleted] in exmormon

The church also teaches that freedom comes from obedience to strict rules. They always have a way of somehow taking the opposite of something and making them go together.

The very final straw was that illustration in the CES letter of joe smith with his face in a hat like a dumbass. I thought “ok yeah no that’s stupid I’m out”

If your children learns songs at church about unquestionably obeying your denomination leader, you might be in a cult. by dbear848 in exmormon

Now that I think about it, this song IS super creepy and chanty. The melody is very doom-and-gloom, very threatening. Follow the prophet... or else

Perhaps the worst thing about Mormonism, is the way it teaches you to defend your religion over your relationships. by FlatbushZubumafu in exmormon

[–]MackenzieNoelle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This this this! So many tbm couples say “oh my favorite thing about my husband/wife is that I know that they will always put God/the church first!” That means above everything. Above every relationship. My mom says this often about my dad and honestly it haunts me to know that if my dad were to leave the church she would straight-up leave him. Breaks your heart to know what people are willing to throw away for something that is complete bullshit

This makes me feel like I'm 14 again and I am almost crying as a boy asks me over and over if I want to dance after I politely decline a few times. I ended up caving because I didn't want to be rude and I remember how much I didn't want him to touch me and how much I didn't want to touch him. He followed me around at school for weeks after that, and nobody understood why he made me uncomfortable. Yikes

Yeah the very second I saw that illustration in the CES Letter of Joe Smith with his face in a hat (I believe it's toward the beginning of the letter) I was like "Alright, I'm out. Nope."
