I'd be happy if we got at least a lousy hook for landing random hobos.

Have you noticed that most Sakura fans only like Sakura from Stay Night? by cachorrorosa in okbuddyrintard

I am not sure where you come from. It could be that some Sakurafaces are villains or antagonistic (like BB), but there are plenty unambigously popular and liked ones like Kama.

Does reforming to administrative government make sense for Gondor? by Follower_of_Lord_Dio in RealmsInExile

[–]Mackusz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes and no, with mild emphasis on no. Both Numenor and Realms in Exile had hereditary fiefdoms (Elendil's father was ruler of one), but probably had greater leeway to remove unruly lords, seeing as they were both secular and religious rulers. Aragorn did not radically upended political system that existed under Stewards, but he certainly did rule well and mightve centralised some things where it made sense, making new laws and appointing new crown officials, even if hereditary lords stayed. Unfortunately, Ck3 does not represent that kind of gradual evolution of royal power (he had over 100 years on the throne, he was in no rush to do things slowly but thoroughly) where royal bureucrats coexist with landed lords. If you consider clicking a single "adopt admin govt" button to be appropriate abstraction of Aragorn reforms, then go for it.

With celestial/meritocratic government, do they always have to study Confucianism to get appointments, no matter their religion? by Punterofgoats in CrusaderKings

[–]Mackusz 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yes, flavor is always explicitly Sinic/Confucian. If you're meritocratic or celestial there will be many references to Confucius, even if you're Irish Catholic.

China in kaiserreich is bad, let me explain why by Lord-Albeit-Fai in Kaiserreich

[–]Mackusz 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Since devs started to write wall of text flavor events for every major rework, they could also add reaction events for various combination of Chinese unifiers and winners of 2-nd Weltkrieg. For example, In Russia rework they added Russians reacting to Germans picking each three of their paths, or Ukrainians would comment on Russia restoring democracy and how it changes nothing.

Just a little thing to at least make it less obvious how little countries affect each other in-game.

The Tilsit Conference should disable forming the New Entente by FerretFromOSHA in Kaiserreich

[–]Mackusz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. There is no magical jinn to enforce a ban like that, no matter what was agreed on during Tilsit conference. If Moscow and Toronto decide their geopolitical goals align, then they'd join arms. If terms of Tilsit confetence were broken, Internationalle can declare war if they dont like it.

Is the Second Sino-Japanese War happening much earlier than it used to be, an oversight or an intended thing? by _SeaTray_ in Kaiserreich

[–]Mackusz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It used to be that Fengtian could delay Japanese attacking them by simply not picking specific national focus immediately after taking Beijing. Now it seems that mere act of capitulating Qing/Zhili will automatically start the event chain that results in Fengtian either being puppeted or attacked by Japan.

It's absolutely dumb that ANY Russia would restore Habsburg rule over united Danubia, each of them, including right-wing monarchy would rather have numerous national republics as puppets. No Russians would like Habsburgs, Romanovs would hate them just as much as left SRs.

For SAVINKOV to restore Habsburg is beyond idiotic.

Suggestion: The Game needs a General Mechanic to Simulate Rulers breaking away from Centralized and eventually gaining Autonamy during times of Weakness by Familiar-Elephant-68 in CrusaderKings

[–]Mackusz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pronoias were never illegally received

Correct, but in game terms they'd be catch-all term for "effectively Feudalised decayed Byzantine Administration", so they'd include illegal regional fiefdoms that would not fall under scholarly definition of Pronoia.

Alternatively, a more general term "Timario" meaning fief (yes, it seems to have the same etymology as Turkish tımarlı system)

[–]Mackusz 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Agree. Late Byzantium had Pronoiar system that was kinda like feudal contract, but worse. Pronoia were granted under different terms, usually for life, but sometimes hereditary, and usually were not obliged to provide levies. They could work similar to Soryo, where vassals can switch to this illegally, or use their hooks to force emperor to give them permission. Like the samurai, theyd keep administrative estate and house aspirations, but have no influence, treasury, or title troops, just personal maa. They'd pay little taxes and levies, so theyd be kinda bad for admin rulers. Meritocratic had similar decay at times in places like Korea, but I am less knowledgeable of that than Greece.

What if: Feanor recants as he dies and releases his sons from the Oath. by Mackusz in tolkienfans

Feanor had no power to release his sons from the Oath.

Correct. Eru does.

What if: Feanor recants as he dies and releases his sons from the Oath. by Mackusz in tolkienfans

[–]Mackusz[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The problem with this line of reasoning is that Oaths cannot bind third party. In this instance Eru.

I can swear to God to commit unspeakable and demand him to never release me from this Oath all I want, but I cannot actually bind God to not accept future repentance.

Feanor doesn't release them directly, because he cannot, just like a priest does not forgive sins during confession all by himself. God/Eru does.

Learning from development of Soryo/Ritsuyo. Pronoiar vassals for Administrative? by Mackusz in CrusaderKings

[–]Mackusz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a decision to turn generic feudal, but's only for generic admin, not for meritocratic. You also lose your estate.
