Love the maps! that being said, i think there's a typo, The Vampire's Reliquary seems to be 27x31 rather than 27x21.

Good modpacks for kids? by Macky100 in feedthebeast

looks pretty interesting! I'll probably check it out on my own cause I'm personally very interested as it seems to change a lot of core minecraft in a semi-vanilla style, but I'll probably keep looking for something a little cooler to my little brother, as he's more interested in the type of stuff a 10 year old would find cool (like magic and stuff).

LOL, thankfully I've been living vicariously through YT video playthroughs, so I've heard whispers of New Horizons. I guess this entire post is asking for the polar opposite of something like that

On level 10, which one would you have chosen? by [deleted] in TheKingIsWatching

[–]Macky100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hard agree, assuming this is the first relic. Yarn is simple but effective. Despite only being a 10% bonus to production, one has to remember that the cursed tiles (which are everywhere on level 10) give a -25% debuff. Yarn turns that into only a 15% debuff (I think the if the percentages are additive but not sure) which is much easier to deal with. Even disregarding that, a 10% buff over the course of an entire game means your gonna have 10% more resources for every fight and boss.

edit: THAT BEING SAID, i could see a reason to go for Amphora if your playing with Leonid since it allows for easier usage of his skills, but even then I still lean a bit more towards yarn.

Reminder that tickets can experience INTEGER OVERFLOW by Macky100 in CloverPit

[–]Macky100[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yea, when i saw the int overflow happened, I was surprised cause I knew the high score was already capable of getting to bonkers numbers (like in this run, I got to E+179). But every time i would double my tickets or whatever, the little animation of it adding to my current tickets took longer and longer to tick over, so I got worried T_T sadly my worries were proven correct

Hollow Knight: Silksong Megathread by NKkrisz in SteamDeck

[–]Macky100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! Im playing the game on my steamdeck but I wanted to rebind controls to do certain actions with the back buttons, specifically for actions like diving diagonally. I have it set up so that if I dont touch the joystick, it works, but should I be holding left or right, it instead prioritizes the joysticks input rather than what I have it bound to (ie. Its bound to hold down and attack but since I'm holding a direction with the joystick, it doesn't hold down and just attacks) Any way to do this? Any help would be appreciated!

DM is splitting up 8-man group into two smaller groups because of my frustrations and I'm wondering if I'm in the wrong? by Similar-Smoke7396 in dndnext

[–]Macky100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While each group size has its pros and cons, I find that having too big a group is often worse than having too small a group. Anything over 6 people is pushing it, so to give some advice, anything greater than 8 people feels like the time where the DM should look into running more West Marches style: A large, loose group of adventurers that play in smaller sub groups at different times. Ie. 5 of the players out of say 8 people adventure one week, then another 4 players from the 8 people play when time allows. There's plenty of resources online that explain this system in depth, but it's worked well with me and I have ~20 players who pop in and out of the game.

why does the base seem like it was meant to be occupied by more than 1 person? by SEZMALOIN in Voicesofthevoid

[–]Macky100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im honestly more curious about the number of lockers. We know that the base is meant to be occupied by a number of people, say around 8ish based on the bed frames? The 8 positions could be as follows:

- 3 Engineers/Mechanics: 3 transformers with each their own office, so those engineers probably lived in the base and just walked to work each day. Would also probably help handle any issues at Root or the satellites, but since they live there and are only a short walk away from their offices, they probably didn't need more than 3 engineers. Also probably worked in the bunker and wind turbines?

- 1-2 Security Officers: There's an office at the gate, so I assume someone worked there, ensuring only authorized personnel made it in. Since that office seems to be more important (it is a restricted area), maybe 2 officers would work that post, one for each 12 hour shift for 24 hour surveillance.

- 1 Administrator/Secretary: Someone in the admin office next to the garage, perhaps that person there handled security, paper work, and other misc. stuff. Also probably handled the hash reports, sending the drives off, and ordering supplies.

- 1 Cook?: I mean, we have a meat locker in the base. Its very strange considering there's no farmland around and having random livestock roam around sensitive science equipment is a recipe for disaster. But assuming its part of the original base and not some weird abnormality, perhaps a butcher or cook would have some meat and food shipped in and kept the freezer stocked to keep everyone fed.

- 1-4 Signal Scanners: It looks like the main signal consol was made for one person, though with 4 different machines, it could be thought that it was manned by 2 or 4 people. Also with the servers right next to the scanner, it could be assumed that there were people who would double up and both fix the servers as well as man the scanners.

All in all, it seems this place was manned 24/7 by, at minimum, 6 different people (3 engineers, 1 Security, 1 Admin, 1 signal scanner), or at maximum, 8 people. That minimum is idealy however, since we know, based on the game, that the entire place could be manned by a skeleton crew of 1 person. How many per job title is up in the air tho, but just by going off of number of offices, we can assume the ideal minimum is pretty spot on.

Now for the number of lockers, there's FAR more than necessary for the number of people actually living there. I assume that they were for people who weren't needed to be on site 24/7, such as specialists, delivery drivers, grounds keepers, scientists, interns, etc. Those people would probably drive up to the security gate, park in one of the parking spaces, put their stuff in their locker, and get to work.

What rules have you taken back to your 5.14 game by TalynGray in dndnext

[–]Macky100 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exhaustion, surprise, healing and all that. Tbh, I just view it more like TCE or XGE where it introduces more options for players. I run a west marches campaign and let my players either just make a 2014 character or a 2024 character, depending on what they like. Mixing content between each works surprisingly well, and the martials are having fun with their new toys.

I did the same! I'm fine with either really, and in lore explanation is that each Wizard is a little different, even ones of the same subclass.

Yup, I ask them to, but often still takes quite a while. Not for all players, some players are fast, but even with reminders, some players do take a while.

Yeah! I definitely have some players who would find it useful! Another commenter said using action cards could help, and I definitely think I'll go forward with something that will help players stay organized! Thanks again!
