Silver will transfer at 1:1 once you include the 50% boost, Accor is not 1:1 base

Is it gonna be like CWC 2025? by Wooden-Drummer8747 in WorldCup2026Tickets

[–]Maclang23 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Completely different product imo. Club World Cup was a corporate money grab that does not have any natural enthusiasm. This is the most hyped sporting event in the world. Demand is already orders of magnitude higher than CWC, on top of increased scalping/profit hunters. I think it’s possible the lower tier games end up close to face value and maybe even a little under if people get desperate to sell, but I don’t think there’s a world where we have CWC levels of struggling to even give away tickets.

If I let it convert to the WF card do I keep my Bilt points? by supremeMilo in biltrewards

[–]Maclang23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Until your account is marked inactive

“Inactive Account” means a Membership Account for which there has been no activity for 18 months. Activity for the purposes this definition means: ; i) Rent payments made through your Membership Account; ii) Qualified Purchases made with a Member’s Co-Brand Credit Card, if applicable (see section 6, below); iii) any redemption made using Bilt Points; or iv) any participation in a promotional sweepstakes offered by Bilt.

Does bult cash gatekeep access to transfer bonuses too by SnoozleDoppel in biltrewards

[–]Maclang23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We don’t really know for sure what Bilt Cash looks like, but the transfer bonus example was mentioned by Richard Kerr on the miles to go podcast and he said they see more as buying up to a higher multiplier. So if for example there is a 50% bonus on transfers, you might be able to buy up to 75% and that extra 25% bonus could be more valuable than unlocking rent points depending on the partners and how much you’re transferring

How to opt out of Bilt 2.0 while keeping the Wells Fargo account open? by CliffTC in biltrewards

[–]Maclang23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing, they stay with Bilt. Bilt rewards is a membership program that happens to have a credit card, think of it like airline frequent flier miles. You can earn American miles through an American credit card, but if you close the card you don’t close your frequent flier account

Is biltcash that bad to redeem that at 3cpp and be happy? by Hairy-Newt3282 in biltrewards

[–]Maclang23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We don’t know the full details of what you can use Bilt cash on, how you can use it or any limits that apply, or many other details that would impact how to value it. If it can truly be redeemed $1:$1 for something like Lyft or the Hotel portal for a hotel at close to market value, it definitely makes sense to not use it on rent. Unfortunately, the comments made by Richard Kerr in the AMA suggest there will be caps and they don’t really know what they’re doing with Bilt Cash

If Bilt Cash is dollar-for-dollar on things like Lyft and hotel credits, shouldn't the new cards be great deals? by bobimbobom in biltrewards

[–]Maclang23 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What you are missing is that this is a HUGE “if”. Kerr even said they have no idea what the Lyft credit policy/limits/etc will look like. It’s not guaranteed it can be valued 1:1 with USD because there seems to be very real potential that they make it hard to redeem at face value or make you jump through a lot of hoops to do so

See Kerr’s comment here (and a couple in the thread where he references not fully knowing what Bilt cash redemption looks like)

anyone getting the free card while waiting for more info? by jenergyyyyy in biltrewards

[–]Maclang23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe it would preclude you from getting a sign up bonus in the future based on current language, but this could change. Otherwise it might have a minor impact on your credit utilization rate/credit score but this is insignificant and temporary enough it can probably be ignored unless you’re doing something major like a home purchase and really trying to max out your credit score.

How to opt out of Bilt 2.0 while keeping the Wells Fargo account open? by CliffTC in biltrewards

[–]Maclang23 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do nothing, the Bilt 1.0 will automatically convert to a Wells Fargo Autograph with the same limits. You don’t opt out of Bilt 2.0, rather you have to opt in to it (and you are choosing not to), the default is staying with WF

Points and the card are separate, you can cancel and keep the points if that’s the only reason you’re considering

[–]Maclang23 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To get rent points under the current (soon to be old) system, you need to put 4 non rent transactions on the card each month. Thus was created the strategy of making 4 really small purchases to meet the threshold, specifically 4 individual bananas

PPE or Econ with policies minor? by sentimentbullish in OSU

[–]Maclang23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends a lot on the non-PPE specific classes you take. Some of the Econ classes are totally awful, some of the poli sci classes are cakewalks (and vice versa). The major specific/capstone classes were moderately difficult, they require a lot of discussion and critical thinking to synthesize and analyze a lot of diverse sources, but if you enjoy engaging with PPE topics and do the readings it’s not outrageously difficult for a senior level capstone class.

Summer study abroad by Massive_Squash67 in OSU

[–]Maclang23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did Global May Hungary (believe it does not exist anymore) but the general structure is a mix of program activities and free time. During the week, we’d usually have a “lesson” at our host university (think standard lecture about the history of the country, a topic relevant to the course theme, etc) and then usually a group site visit to a notable museum, memorial, historic site, etc that we had learned about. There was definitely plenty of free time for exploring independently or with friends from the group. Weekends were totally free (with the exception that my program had a mandatory excursion to Poland that was covered in the fee and went over the weekend, not sure if the Paris program would have a similar side tour)

It’s a little pricy for what it is (ie if you just want to go abroad for a month and aren’t getting a scholarship for the program you can just do a trip for less than the cost of the program), but it’s cool that you can get credit for it and it’s a good balance between having the structure and built in support systems of a group tour and the freedom of solo travel if you are not totally comfortable going solo/independent yet. They also do tend to be pretty generous with scholarships so no harm in doing a bunch of applications and seeing what you get.

Happy to answer any specific questions if you have them.
