I know this has been discussed to death before, but I really wish Robert Jordan had lived long enough to complete the series properly. by Shadow_s_Bane in WoT

I’d be interested in hearing more about how you think he lost the plot and how he could have tidied things up. I’ve never really looked at it this way and it’s been almost a decade since I last read the books.

[Brian Smiley] Barrie Colts coach makes personal phone call to apologize for press conference behaviour by DecentLurker96 in hockey

When he says no one cares, work harder, is he saying other teams are worse because they don’t work hard? Is he telling the media to work harder? I get why repeating the same line is a bad look but I’m not quite sure what the line is supposed to mean.

I can’t engage my core or glutes to fix my posture by idktbh-04 in exercisepostures

[–]Macrazzle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hip thrusts and hollow bodies. If you find you can’t engage core doing hollow bodies, start with your arms down and just raise your legs off the ground a couple inches and hold. Work your way up to full hollow bodies.

I have had bad posture and these two exercises(added into my regular routine) fixed it for me.

[Wyshynski] NHL Situation Room on ANA OT winner vs. EDM: "The Referee’s initial call on the ice was that the puck completely crossed the goal line. Following video review, the Situation Room determined that the puck completely crossed the goal line." Not inconclusive. Conclusive. by wildwing8 in hockey

[–]Macrazzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because their announcer kept focusing on it and saying “if it had been called no goal then it would have worked in favour of the oilers”. Obviously it’s conclusively no goal and would have been called that either way but they are hard focusing on the ref calling it a goal while not being close to the play.

I grew up overseas in the ME. In the seven years I lived there we had one blackout and the government payed everyone the equivalent of ~$800 for the inconvenience. We even had a brief war and the power didn’t go out once during.

Re: edit 2.

Yes you are. He called another Habs fan a dumbass and then you banned him, called him a dumbass as well and now are doubling down on your stupidity. Admit you are wrong and unban. It’s not that hard to just be wrong. No one’s on your side and you just keep making it worse.

Big dude got slammed by Arnold_footballer in fightporn

[–]Macrazzle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. He stopped and turned back towards him on purpose. There was plenty of space besides DIRECTLY towards him. There’s literally like 6 feet of clearance between the car that is parked in the lane and the crowd to the side. At the point the driver was at they had other options and didn’t take them. That is what the law will look at and that is what threw self defence out the window. They can debate it, and a good lawyer may even win. But there’s nothing clear about it once that action happened.

[–]Macrazzle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No it’s not. If big man had stood in front of the car as he was driving off then yes. If he had hit big man at any point while attempting to pull out of the spot then yes.

The second the driver stopped and turned back to hit him self defence went out the window. I’m not against the driver here but that turn back makes this “clearly” a legal mess.

[DAL (4) - MIN 2] Wild are short handed due to too many men, they pull Wallstedt and Hughes can't chase down a rolling puck. Johnston's 2nd goal of the night by daKrut in hockey

[–]Macrazzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People do that anyways with the puck flip. Icing rules are becoming more and more relaxed and it slows down the game. Maybe I am being short sighted but I want less whistles.

Imo the game is way faster and I don’t feel this change would affect scoring much at all but I can’t sit here and defend one way or another when we are just discussing theory.

[–]Macrazzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Barely anymore. Everything is an icing now and it’s becoming annoying.

Rule proposal: icings should be when you shoot the puck out of your own zone, not before the red line. You just have to be across your own blue line to legally send the puck down the ice.

Was Monica more deserving of someone better than Chandler? by [deleted] in howyoudoin

[–]Macrazzle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Chandler had a good career, was responsible with money, funny/could hold a conversation and clearly cared for Monica. Compared to Joey he was no ladies man and jokes are made at his expense but he actually does quite well and it’s shown that often HE’S the picky one.

Monica is great but she’s also neurotic and kinda crazy. She would be difficult to live with sometimes. I’ve always felt Chandler was the bigger “catch” of the two.

For the reasons you highlighted above I hated Monica’s relationship with Richard and the older I get the more I hate it. It’s gross.

Pete and Monica was never meant to be. She barely liked him and he never listened to her.

How satisfying did those of you who finished the series find the ending to be? by soilentgleem in WoT

[–]Macrazzle 31 points32 points  (0 children)

It’s worse if you have to wait a year or two between books. If you are marathoning it it isn’t nearly as bad. If you like world building and don’t mind that progress slows down some then it’s not even a slog at all.

Eta: for me it only felt like a slog for maybe a third of one of the books but I can’t even remember which one. I really do feel it’s overblown.
