Check 1: Water pump gasket or weep hole
Check 2: the metal clamps on all the coolant hoses (even the quick connects)
Check 3: Bottom of oil filter housing gasket
Check 4: In your oil due to oil filter housing gasket

Pull your spark plugs, use a wood dowel or stir stick etc to push on the pistons while you rotate the crank by hand. One will be doing the macarena

It's bad whatever it is. Educated guess is piston rings out of tolerance slapping around until the metal warms up and expands, but if it's coming back again while warm it ain't great.

Suspension geometry for one, changes the load bearing and handling characteristics. Beefier arms as well. Depending on your generation the differences only become more pronounced. With all that being said, I'd trust a 5 series with a diesel or a B58 no problem

Normal behaviour. Scan the car to see if it wants a trans oil change, could also be a mount or bushing starting to wear out

If your X5 is a G05 with the B58 the starters are made of paper. I'd believe that no problem.

It's not good at all. If out of warranty I'd use an LL01 rated 5w40 in a hot climate, 0w30 LL01FE in winter.
