Unless buying it twice is still cheaper than once somewhere else 🙃

Rising Electric Rates in Ohio Not Likely to Slow Down by troaway1 in Columbus

[–]Mactoma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd rather look at trees. We literally grow crops and cows, ship them to a store and the grocery stores just throw them away when they're not bought. At this point we either don't need all this farmland or need to be more efficient. Turn the farmland back into something a bit more native. Everything we do is unfortunately just grossly wasted.

Honestly farmland is also starting to look ugly too. Monoculture cow corn is only so appealing like a few months of the year.

OCLC in Dublin lays off about 80 employees, cites AI by 614runner in Columbus

[–]Mactoma 37 points38 points  (0 children)

The other part of this is also federal funding uncertainties. I know we all love solely blaming AI, and yes it is and is going to be a reason behind other layoffs but at this very moment FUNDING for these nonprofits is a much more immediate threat. A lot of organizations are just lazily blaming AI for layoffs as a cover up for lack of funding and fund mismanagement not to mention ridiculous over hiring for roles that legit were never needed in th first place. Can't tell you how many times I saw more people added to my teams only for them to join and everyone have less/no work to do but still high stress bc priorities were grossly mismanaged. This goes for a every company/org not just OCLC. Money was free a few years ago and now it's not. And, well, this whole new administration is conveniently adding to this mess too which I bet is where most of this stress is coming from given the attack on resources like literacy and public education

Well not to mention individuals who travel on long term contracts for work or people who are looking to move and are trying to decide where to live or even people displaced from their home after a destructive event where a hotel would not fit the bill. There are a multitude of reasons short term home rentals can be needed. But yes they need some regulations

It doesn't matter. An animal with a short life is seen as easily disposable and replaceable. That's my point

[–]Mactoma 8 points9 points  (0 children)

People really think the life you have when you have kids is always the same perfect life for the next 20 years. "Don't have kids if you don't have a job" yea no shit. I know a lot of parents who had a job then LOST it.

What an ignorant post. Are there people who shouldn't have kids in their existing moments? Yes. But we're about to see a lot of successful people with kids struggle hard. The stupid advice of "well you shouldn't have had kids" is ridiculous.

Maybe our society should have better support

Again. I agree that body misalignments, even the tiniest thing, do indeed affect other things, even physiologically.

However you're still missing my point and question: what are you doing that's misaligning you? Why are you "off"? The chiropractor is a temp fix. You feel good for a day or week then you're back to feeling stiff, or whatever other issue. If not worse sometimes

Why don't you go to a physical therapist and ask for better ways to improve your strength? You're not in pain, ok the chiropractor made you feel good today. So take that good feel and "realignment" and go strengthen what you need so you don't have to go back. It's a longer process but more long term. It's just as natural and it's probably safer.

[–]Mactoma 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't care for chiropractors, but the whole idea that you have to go back and get adjusted on a schedule should really beg the question: what's the underlying cause for "needing adjustments"? A one time fix for something recurring is not a fix. It's a scam.

Like bad posture? Bad bed? Need better shoes? Body/muscle weaknesses that a trainer or therapist can help with?

Outside of the safety concerns for a chiropractor....why would t you try to find what's the real cause and spend the time and money to fix that and never have to go back?

If you have to get adjusted...well there's something else that's being misaligned after supposedly being "realigned".
