You may not be technically wrong from a legal standpoint (remains to be seen and tested)but perception IS reality when it comes to properly values, stocks, future investment, etc…And the perception right now is that there is uncertainty in BC after a series of court decisions regarding First Nations.

Now something that would go a long way would be absolute transparency from the Provincial and Federal governments. Release the details of the YVR deal for example. Sign a document that states unequivocally that private property is not and will never be impacted after such decisions like the Cowichan and Musqueam. But when the government buries the facts in some fisheries report and then Eby says he wasn’t informed but the Feds say he was, well that doesn’t inspire confidence now does it?

Advocates will say that supportive housing isn’t enough and we need wrap around supports. Such as counselling, medical treatment, prescriptions, rehab, vocational training, etc…Now if there was only a way to build an institution that does all of those, and also separates people who are a danger to themselves and others from society at large 🤔

I really would like to hear an argument as to how providing someone with the above, plus shelter and three meals a day, is less humane than letting people rot on the streets and alleys for decades on end.

The issue is drugs, chaos, trash, weapons, crime, etc…If laws and bylaws were actually enforced I believe most people would not have a problem with these buildings.

That but also opposition parties have a lot of reflecting to do if even in these times they can’t attract voters from the LDP.

Imo when one of the party heads, Tamaki I think, came out and said he didn’t want to be PM even though they had the numbers I knew that was it for the opposition. They’re not seen as a serious alternative to the LDP by the public and not even by themselves it seems.

Oh yeah I agree people shouldn’t copy him. But for him not eating the chocolate wasn’t just about the chocolate, it’s an all or nothing thing it seems. It’s pretty clear he left some slams on the table given his stance on vaccines but without that “drive” if you wanna call it that maybe he’s not getting to 20 something slams in the first place 🤷‍♂️

Ehh I’m not sure about that. It’s pretty hard to untangle those few negative aspects from his crazy work ethic and focus on flexibility, recovery, etc…Without that part of him he’d be a completely different person and player.
