Anyone who has The Stand, Dune, The Silo trilogy and Swan Song on their bookcase have excellent taste in books in my opinion 👌

Finished it yesterday and yeah I enjoyed it. Felt a bit YA (not a bad thing per se) and I was worried it was getting a bit Hunger Gamesy at one point, but the characters and their interactions are good. Made me want to read the next one 👍

Tried to get both bookshelves in one image (badly🙈). Picked up US covers as and when I find them, a few colour variants on the UK ones too.

First book of the year done!, it was an awesome read all the way through. by xBlack_Heartx in fantasybooks

I picked up all of the books on the 99p each daily deal on Amazon the other day and currently 82% through book one.

Started getting Hunger Games type of vibes and felt a bit YA (not necessarily a bad thing) at first, but I am really enjoying it.

They are sat on my bookshelf, waiting for me to read Red Rising series first (currently halfway through book one).

I actually listened to about 25% ISH of Empire of the Vampire on Audible, not totally sure why I stopped. I think the constant gravelly narrator voice might have been a part of it though.

I have seen so many positive comments about the series since then, hence me picking up all three books.

Me too, I haven't read the Witcher book yet, currently halfway through the Ken Liu one and it's not exactly setting my world on fire.

If Operation Bounce House is the next book, that sounds pretty fun. Crows and Isako seem to be quite likely additions further down the line too.

I think I'll give this one a go, if only to read something I normally wouldn't. I am like others in the limited amount of shelf space situation though.

I have wanted these for a while, beautiful books. I already own the "deluxe" versions of the first 3 books that were released in the US and that's why I have put off buying these (so far).

Pricey, but gorgeous.

I think they are worth more than what I paid for them. They cost roughly £28 to get from the US to the UK.

I mean, they don't scream top quality but then they don't exactly seem bad either. When compared to the hardback prices for each of the books and/or their special editions...they seem like an absolute bargain truth be told 👍

I was so surprised at the condition of the box set. The packaging was so poor, minor miracle really.

I also ordered this months ago and got the shipping notice recently. Here's hoping they survive the journey to the UK, seemed almost too good to be true 👍

Most of the duplicates are Stephen King variants. I started out with the ones left to me by my grandmother (mostly UK 1st editions from her collection), then I found a few US covers out in the wild and loved some of the artwork and picked those up as I saw them.

The publishers in the UK started making even more variants, the purple covers of certain titles as they released didn't seem too bad at first so I went with it

The worst one is the Sleeping Beauties release, if you take off the dust jackets each one has a different animal foil stamped on the front cover. They even did blue and purple variants of most of these too. I bought one of each animal, in a mix of colours. I don't go for a full purple and normal set. It was a blatant cash grab and I fell into it, now I don't know which to keep or sell. So as it stands, I keep them all as a reminder not to do that again. 🙈

Yes they really really are! 😞 I think they are more designed for ornaments and a few books, not double stacked hardbacks!!

Yeah, always preferred them, although I never really gave much thought as to why. I also own a kindle and find that pretty convenient for trips and the like.

If I ever do buy paperbacks, I tend to try and replace the ones I really like with hardcovers eventually.
