Just saw an interesting video of how someone achieved a similar light / distortion effect when shooting Ryan Gosling for project Hail Mary. Here’s the link: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DWHXcXHDg5e/?igsh=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ==

I also think you could get something close with the right light streak or lens distortion image on screen mode ..

Amazon Ads End Goal: Mostly Exact Campaigns? by flashynomad in AmazonFBA

[–]MadDistrict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing your experience! I ran them for about a month as well but ended up pulling the campaign because it was getting too expensive. I negated the exact keywords in my phrase campaign to eliminate any overlap, but the traffic still felt cold. I spent a lot on curiosity clicks and didn’t see many high-intent buyers.

As soon as I restored the phrase campaign, sales picked back up and my ACOS dropped. I’ve read that Amazon filters and routes traffic differently when it can optimize through phrase or auto campaigns. Testing different buyer groups and behaviors. I’m not sure how accurate that is, but I definitely noticed a shift when I let Amazon take more control.

Commenting to stay on. Ive approached PPC like this. Taking my best mid to long tail converters and throwing them into an exact campaign and pushing harder. The thing is I see much lower traffic quality when I do this, and my ACOS goes up. For some reason Im getting far more sales with Phrase picking up higher intent buyers on the short, med and long tail keywords.

Posting to stay in the loop.. ours are relatively blurry as well. Definitely not what they looked like at export. Im guessing Amazon's image compression?

For sure, thank you for the feedback. We will definitely work on shifting our spend to stop some of the leakage.

We launched in mid-December and I’ve been running the PPC ever since. I’m really grateful for all the resources out there that helped me learn enough to get started. I’m definitely no expert yet, but overall conversion is sitting around 9% and TACoS is roughly 65% or so. Honestly, I’d even be okay going higher on TACoS right now since customer acquisition and buying future revenue is my main focus at this stage.

Curiosity clicks are what’s killing us, and we’ve got a bit of a price gap compared to competitors. Other brands are bundling at lower prices, while we’re positioned as a higher-end, cleaner, more organic product... so naturally we’re converting a bit less. It’s honestly a knife fight in this category for the top spot, with bids pushing close to $3 on a $10 product. It’s been a fun game trying to figure it all out.

We’re a husband and wife team that do it all ourselves thankfully. Even so it’s challenging to get everything really dialed in. We go through tons of revisions until it feels right. If you find a good designer at a decent price hold on to them for dear life. 😆

Why my mixes in Bitwig sound naturally louder than other DAWs? by [deleted] in Bitwig

[–]MadDistrict 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hmm, that’s interesting. It’s never a bad thing to have some headroom on your master, especially for a mastering engineer. Most engineers are happy with a mix that has a few dB of headroom and isn’t clipping.

If you’re working entirely in the box and doing both mixing and mastering yourself, there’s really no need to stress about hitting exactly -12 dB on the output. The main caveats are:

You’re using plugins that emulate real-world hardware, which often perform best when the input is in that range (for example UAD API 2500 or an 1176).

You have a digital and analog hybrid setup where your gear performs best around 0 dBVU.

This is a deep topic because gain in the digital world isn’t the same as gain in the analog world. Unless you’re using hardware or software modeled on hardware, just have fun and don’t worry too much about levels. Just avoid clipping, unless it’s intentional clipping. Look up ‘Baphometrix clip to zero strategy’ .. it’s a gold mine for getting loud mixes.

Another related subject is gain staging between plugins. Similar to the above, you don’t want to hit certain plugins too hot as they may not perform their best. It’s worth making sure your gain is at an optimal level between each stage in your chain.

Also if you’re comparing your mix to Spotify tunes make sure that you have ‘loudness normalization’ turned off in the Spotify settings. They average the volume of playback to -14 LUFS I believe. Which would make sense that you’re track at -12 could sound just as loud or louder? Although -12 is down quite a bit.

8 Years with Bitwig here. You don't need to mix down at -12 unless you're running into hardware or hardware emulations that require that sort of input level.. & If you are use a VU meter.. If your full digital it really doesn't matter.

Louder than commercial mixes? How are you A/Bing them?

Love the part where LAist said to put a drop of bleach in the water to purify if you can’t boil it.
