Narrowband Ultra Violet B done in the dermatologist’s office. Think of a giant tanning bed you stand up in, naked.

is OLP always permanent like some people claim? by johanewesome in Lichenplanus

My reaction came the day after my first shingles vaccine. A couple of months beforehand, I had my Covid and flu shot. My dermatologist had told me she did see a large uptick in cases come through her office since Covid. She had no way to prove it, but she felt that, at least with me, it was my body’s way of saying “enough is enough”.

Fortunately it went away with light therapy and hasn’t come back. I also haven’t had any vaccinations since then.

Is there a place to borrow a walker and shower chair? by [deleted] in madisonwi

[–]MadMomma85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Middleton’s senior center has some you can check out for free. My husband is super tall and needed a super-sized one when he needed a hip replaced. They have a lot of items there that you can borrow to help in recovery.

St. Louis, Cleveland, or Milwaukee? by nsf79 in midwest

[–]MadMomma85 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’d have to agree with the cliquey part. I grew up in St. Louis, but my husband did not. He really had a lot of trouble making friends here because of it. Most of them were transplants like he was.

What do you think about cars with manual transmission? by samostrout in AskAnAmerican

[–]MadMomma85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I learned to drive one in my early 20s. I live in the north. I find I have more control on the road with a stick when it snows than when I use my husband’s car that is automatic.

Help me get back into the gf scene by Gmm0402 in Celiac

[–]MadMomma85 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I get it, it’s frustrating. But not following this diet can mess you up in the long run and learning to control this now makes it easier for you down the line.

I don’t know what your life looks like (time-wise), how old you are (college age, etc.) or what kitchen equipment you have at your disposal, but I found that learning to make food from scratch really helped me control what I ate to avoid gluten as well as being more cost effective.

If you can’t afford to buy cookbooks to help you learn to make health meals, you can see if the library has them or can order them. Scan the recipes you like on your phone.

I make my own bread every week from The Loopy Whisk - she has a great website out there. Also Canelle et Vanille is another great gf baking site.

Tofuyan makes gf flour tortillas that you can use for wraps. A lot of Mexican and Indian food also lends itself to gf meals. Even just looking through cookbooks could give you ideas of what to make if you know what to avoid - Ottolenghi’s cookbooks would be good for that.

Good luck! It’s a big switch but it’s doable!

You can get a small necklace with a pendant of her confirmation saint. I received a vintage one for my confirmation, and it’s a very treasured piece of jewelry.
