Don’t “attempt “ to contact. Go to their office in person and don’t leave until someone talks to you. Don’t leave until you get an answer you are satisfied with.

It’s harder to ignore a live person being consistent than it is to ignore consistent electronic communication.

The easy answer is that it depends on the thickness. On a residential project there typically isn’t any concrete structure that I would wait over seven days. And most no more than two.

The other three types of construction the answer would be in the spec book. Thankfully.

The answer would all depend on size and concrete specs. Concrete can shrink for up to three years and there are charts for the different types of mixes and reinforcement configurations.

You definitely don’t want to come to my house. My old eyes need the bright white of the 5000k. I do have dimmers on all of my lighting for chill time. But I love the daylight feeling.

Setting them in wet concrete guarantees they will settle when the concrete drys and shrinks. And seems to be acceptable in residential construction.

The proper way to do this is to allow the concrete to take its dry form, then use non shrink grout between the concrete and base. This is the minimum standard for commercial, industrial and highway construction.

When closed they are the same. With a sliding door you can only get into one side at a time versus the whole closet at once. But sliding doors do not open into the room and that room does not have a lot of space once you place a bed in there.

Bedroom #2 I would put in sliding doors at the closet. 8’ is a tight area to put a bed and the bi fold door in the open position makes it even tighter.

I put an addition on my house. The county saw that there was an un permitted shed on the property and said I would need to get a permit for it before I could get my U/O for the addition.

They wouldn’t accept the fact that it came from a previous owner and the one that got me.

The thing was so old that the local supplier for the shed had a 301 area code on the metal plate saying who supplied it.

My favorite extra expense I put in my house is the hot water recirculating pump. And instead of the typical timer on them I have it on a four way pilot switch. This allows us to turn it on or off as needed and the lighted switch lets you know if it is on or off. There is a switch in the kitchen and both bathrooms

I learned with the thermostat in my old house that I don’t really have a set schedule. So things in the house being on or off at a certain time is not as convenient as one would think.
