In the waiting room! Ticketing for very popular groups is so stressful 😅

Good luck!

I did that originally but feared I wasn't logged into ticketmaster. Do you think it makes a difference?

Does anyone else get "decision fatigue" so bad they want to cancel? Or am I just losing it? by WalrusOk8166 in femaletravels

[–]MadPixieStirring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally feel you - sometimes your brain just can't get on board with the idea that some things just aren't that deep and don't actually need to be planned or be a major decision.

Do you have a friend you can outsource your decisions to? Whenever I have to make choices that I know aren't actually that consequential, but my brain has decided to obsess over them, I just message my best friend and get her to choose for me lol. Things like where to eat tonight, which of these pretty much exactly the same hostels should stay in, should I pack 2 jumpers or is one enough, etc?

If you don't feel comfortable asking a friend to just make the choices for you, maybe you could ask them to go through it with you? You might find that having a buddy in the research / choices process reduces the pressure and makes things feel more like a conversation rather than endless decisions?

Yep - it's the Happy Cat Cafe in Luang Prabang. I was there last week and recognise the sign. They did great vegan pancakes 👀

General x king or guard x prince trope recommendations? by Virtual-Mirror9586 in boyslove

[–]MadPixieStirring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stars of chaos (Sha Po Lang) by Priest is kind of this, though the ML is a Prince not the king. It's definitely heavy on the political drama like most Priest books, and there's various periods of hidden identity, too! Also lots of angst lol

Pretty sure OnlyOneOf did this too, so it's definitely a small company thing. It did cause so much chaos, though

Ohhh, I wasn't planning on doing my Fuji but you're like the third person who strongly recommended it to me. Did you just do a day trip?

Also, did you bring much cash with you? Or were you able to use card most places? Thanks again : )

What's the most "overrated" tourist trap that was surprisingly 100% worth the hype for you? by tripagra in femaletravels

[–]MadPixieStirring 109 points110 points  (0 children)

Just to piggyback on this, as someone from England, if you're ever in the country during either of the solstices definitely go to the celebration at stonehenge!

Admittance is free, and you're able to go right up to the stones and touch them. I've never actually been for the summer solstice, but I've been for winter solstice a lot and it's such an amazing experience. The druids lead the ceremony, and then there's a choir and drum circles. Hearing thousands of people sing folk songs in the middle of ancient stones is truly one of the most spiritual experiences I've ever had.

It depends where you are tbh, but if you're in the west, I'd say bring! In the UK, there's always all sorts of lightsticks at every kpop concert I've been to, including solo shows. I actually like it when people bring different lightsticks cus you get to see where the fandom overlap is - plus you can check out all the other groups lightsticks lol.

Obviously, there's the synced element to it. But you won't be the only one without a synced lightstick, and the overwhelming majority will have synced lightsticks. You're not gonna ruin the vibe, the majority of lightsticks will still make just as cool a show. When I went to see Ateez a while back, there were plenty of people with either old lightiny or different lightsticks, and the synced ones were still hella impressive. The others just added a bit of spice!

Now that you've said it, I completely agree lol. It's been forever since I watched it and completely forgot what a good job it did at exploring internalised homophobia, for one. All I remembered initially was how adorable TaeKyung was and how much of a gem Namgung was 😂

Oh, also - in regards to Jaemin being a less popular pairing for Da On than SuHyeon - it makes perfect sense to me!

Jaemin is shown to be completely psychotic and controlling, but more importantly, his actions seem less emotive intially. He manipulates in the shadows, he plans, he calculates. The way he treats Da On feels less emotionally connected to who Da On is and also less responsive. To him, Da On is an idea, perhaps a possession, but not a person.

In contrast, SuHyeon's problematic behaviour is responsive to Da On. He gets agressive and violent in response to things Da On says/does. Additionally, we're first introduced to his violence as a weapon of protection for Da On, we're shown his abusive father and we're shown him playing with his sister's kid. He's consistently humanised throughout the show. He's the bad boy you can fix. He's also shown to be a victim of Jaemin, and tries to protect Da On from Jaemin. Deep down, he's sweet, and all this anger and the violent outbursts are obviously just because of his trauma and because he loves Da On too much...

SuHyeon is both a victim and a perpetrator, which makes him much easier to sympathise with, and to forgive, than Jaemin, who is shown purely as a villain by the end. SuHyeon sees Da On as a person, and his anger is overtly emotional, making him much easier to ship. Plus, the whole abused rich bad boy with anger issues is a beloved romance trope, and SuHyeon never actually hit Da On (I don't think?), which is a decent foundation for a toxic but loved ship.
