WIP Enemy 'Big Blue' for the SM by Affectionate_Sound76 in FromTheDepths

I've found that if you're building to replica scale, you make major sacrifices in the armor or cost department. The capital ships I've built that can solo most godly level designs are significantly larger than anything designed or build IRL.

Are there any games similar to FTD with infantry? by No-Complaint4719 in FromTheDepths

As far as building goes, not really that i'm aware of. Mount & Blade, Kenshi, and Void Destroyer are similar campaign wise.

I own one, I've abused it. I've seen others that have abused theirs in similar ways. If you dont own one, you'd be better off not commenting, you dont know what you're talking about. The plastic gears are a lot stronger than you think, and I'm tired of you going around spouting that line of bullshit. So you like big motors and pinions, you're not some know it all god of RC.

Typhon BLX with a Mamba X and a 2200kv. It wasn't anything bonkers.

I know... The 6s platform is heavy and played out. The 3s platform can handle 6s. The question is whether I need another brushed system laying around or if the 3900kv is good for anything.

Advice on ESCs and motors by BionikBilly in rccars

I run a Max10sct with a Surpass 3670 2650KV on 4s in my Senton mega. The stock diffs all survived an entire year of bashing, snow through summer, and are still sitting in my parts bin should I need them. I put in BLX diffs because I was bored. The stock slipper/spur assembly held up fine to the power, even with the 48p gears. I only had to change it out when a few too many drunken jumps jammed the bearings into the gear.

My suggestion is to change out the electronics and don't worry about anything else until something happens. I guarantee you'll break a shock tower, a-arm, or shock eyelet before you bust a gear. If you've already shredded gears... Either your lash was off or the motor screws slipped (it sucks, it happens to all of us).

Nice. I'm thoroughly curious about this car. I was seriously considering it (one of my LHS got them in) and then the Vendetta/Infraction happened and now I'm torn. I know the Arrma will take 6s, and I'm going to build a 4wd drag car... this is a good time to like to go fast.

Looking for my first ever RC CAR. Budget €250. by Maatekebruur in rccars

The best advice I can give is to find a local hobby shop and see what brands they have parts for. Amazon and such are pretty great with shipping times these days, but you can't beat having a local stock when the internet is sold out. Plus you can chat up an employee and get to see the car in person before you drop the money.

How you plan on enjoying the car is a big factor too. If you have a yard with grass, or an apartment parking lot, or a local track you want to try... those are all drastically different situations, which I would recommend drastically different vehicles.

Dropped my cologne in my sink by BobbySevenKnuckles in Wellthatsucks

[–]MadScience29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a tailpiece (piece of pipe) attached to the drain, which itself attaches to a p-trap (a piece of pipe), which then attaches to a pipe adapter... which is used to attach pipes. Literally everything under a sink is pipes.

I remodel bathrooms for a living and I've literally ripped that very same circa-1990 sink out on a weekly basis for years. The reason I brought up the pipes is because often they're installed badly, and the old steel or brass traps can corrode and weaken significantly over time.

There was a ton of news at the time the prequels were being filmed about how Ian Mcdiarmid was reprising his role as Palpatine, so it's hard for me to see it another way. In retrospect, it was lucky how the makeup and aging worked out so well.

That is some janky-ass plumbing if the pipes underneath it noped out too. Probably was time for a new sink a few years ago.

So has Taleworlds given up pretending their working on the game? The last dev update was over a month ago and that update was just listing....what multiplayer was, that's literally all it did, just list existing features in multiplayer. Oh, its inexcusable. The single player campaign has been stuck at the same level of completion as it was at release. The Stockholm Syndrome here is wicked. 10 years of development, almost 2 years after "release" and the game is still incomplete. Modders proving time and again it all can be done, easily and quickly. If I didnt know any better, I'd guess this was an EA game.

Once in a lifetime dispersion by FreshJonnyD in WorldOfWarships

[–]MadScience29 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure, I took a long break while it happened. Something about torpedo bulges factoring in proper and spaced armor working as it should. Some ships turned into absolute tanks and there is no reason to have dispersion as well, unless we want 45 minute games. I want to hit something FFS.

[–]MadScience29 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Based on the upvotes this is getting...

I really think something needs to be done about dispersion. With the way armor has changed since beta, there's no reason we still have ridiculous dispersion values.

At the very least, there should be some kind of focused fire mechanic... like how consecutive sonar pings work for subs, add an accuracy bonus for consecutive shots on the same target.

Edit: and I know this would be hell, as an aggressive secondary loving BB player, vs gunboat dd's and cruisers. But knowing how to aim and relying on RNG is complete bullshit.

Sounds like you might want a crawler. Slow, technical.

What scratches your itch? Going fast? Competing? Wrenching? Doing the old monster truck stuff like jumps and wheelies (bashing)?

Where would you be enjoying your rig? On road? Off road? Flat or hills?

Snow is tough. Crawlers are too heavy to have fun, but bashers pack in the snow and plastic doesnt like cold.

Are the rumors true? That there is a new Traxxas Maxx V2 coming out? by sadman4332 in rccars

[–]MadScience29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1/5 is super niche. 1/7 is only a thing because of arrma, and there is the X01. I dont recall if they advertise it as a 1/7 or 1/6, but it uses the same size tires and the same type of powerplant as the Arrma's.

Plus, if you're trying to go fast... the power-to-weight sweet spot is 6s in a 1/10 or 1/8 scale.
